Here we show that a scaffold combining siloxide ligands and a bridging oxide allows the synthesis and characterization of the stable dinuclear uranium(IV) hydride complex [K-2{U(OSi((OBu)-Bu-t)(3))(3)(mu-O)(mu-H)(2)}], 2, which displays high reductive ...

Reported here is a copper-catalyzed 1,2-methoxy methoxycarbonylation of alkenes by an unprecedented use of methyl formate as a source of both the methoxy and the methoxycarbonyl groups. This reaction transforms styrene and its derivatives into value-added ...

A series of Cu(diimine)(X-sal)(NO3) complexes, where the diimine is either 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and X-sal is a monoanionic halogenated salicylaldehyde (X = Cl, Br, I, or H), have been synthesized and characterized by elementa ...

NMR-based crystallography approaches involving the combination of crystal structure prediction methods, ab initio calculated chemical shifts and solid-state NMR experiments are powerful methods for crystal structure determination of microcrystalline powder ...

Most of our understanding of chemistry derives from atomic-level structures obtained with single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Metal centers in X-ray structures of small organometallic or coordination complexes are often extremely well-defined, with errors in ...

Hydrogenases are promising templates for constructing new H-2-based catalysts. [Fe]-hydrogenase, which features an ironguanylylpyridinol (FeGP) cofactor, catalyses a reversible hydride transfer from H-2 to methenyl-tetrahydromethanopterin (methenyl-H4MPT+, ...

This study addresses the visible light-induced bacterial inactivation kinetics over a Bi2WO6 synthesized catalyst. The systematic investigation was undertaken with Bi2WO6 prepared by the complexation of Bi with acetic acid (carboxylate) leading to a flower ...

The quest for nanoscale molecular machines has inspired the search for their close relatives, molecular grippers. This path was paved by the development of resorcin[4]arene cavitands and their quinone-based redox-active congeners. In this Concept article, ...

The vast chemical space of metal and ligand combinations in Transition Metal Complexes (TMCs) gives rise to a rich variety of electronic excited states with local and non-local character such as intra-ligand (IL), metal-centered (MC), metal-to-ligand (MLCT ...

A series of neutral ruthenium(II)-arene complexes, [(arene) Ru(Q(R))Cl] (arene = p-cymene or hexamethylbenzene), containing 4-acyl-5-pyrazolonate (Q(R)) ligands with aromatic substituents in the acyl moiety (a phenyl in Q(Ph) and a 1-naphthyl in Q(naph)) a ...

In a variety of fields, in particular those involving imaging and optics, we often measure signals whose phase is missing or has been irremediably distorted. Phase retrieval attempts to recover the phase information of a signal from the magnitude of its Fo ...
