The accuracy required for a correct interpretation of differential reflectivity (ZDR) is typically estimated to be between 0.1 and 0.2 dB. This is achieved through calibration, defined as the identification of the constant or time-varying offset to be subt ...

In the available literature, including reference books on the topic, the spectral analysis of voltage waveforms obtained through the use of pulse-width modulation relies on the assumption of an ideally flat voltage across the DC link of a considered switch ...

With the increasing availability of both molecular and topo-climatic data, the main challenges facing landscape genomics — i.e. the combination of landscape ecology with population genomics — include processing large numbers of models and distinguishing be ...

A new technique for estimating the raindrop size distribution (DSD) from polarimetric radar data is proposed. Two statistical moments of the DSD are estimated from polarimetric variables, and the DSD is reconstructed using a double-moment normalisation. Th ...

This paper presents a concrete and widespread example of situation where a user’s location privacy is unintentionally compromised by others, specifically the location-privacy threat that exists at access points (public hotspots, FON, home routers, etc.) th ...

The power consumption of the Internet and datacenter networks is already significant due to a large degree of redundancy and high idle power consumption of the network elements. Therefore, dynamically matching network resources to the actual load is highly ...

The variability of the (rain)drop size distribution (DSD) in time and space is an intrinsic property of rainfall, of primary importance for various environmental fields such as remote sensing of precipitation for example. DSD observations are usually colle ...
