The present invention relates to systems and methods for predicting a prognosis of the neuropsychological and/or neuropsychiatric status in a subject based on reports of Minor Hallucination (MH) events in combination with electrophysiological data of the s ...

The design of wavefront-shaping devices is conventionally approached using real-frequency modeling. However, since these devices interact with light through radiative channels, they are by default non-Hermitian objects having complex eigenvalues (poles and ...

Recently, we have established and used the generalized Littlewood theorem concerning contour integrals of the logarithm of an analytical function to obtain a few new criteria equivalent to the Riemann hypothesis. Here, the same theorem is applied to calcul ...

Let k be a field, and let L be an etale k-algebra of finite rank. If a is an element of k(x), let X-a be the affine variety defined by N-L/k(x) = a. Assuming that L has at least one factor that is a cyclic field extension of k, we give a combinatorial desc ...

We study the existence and propagation of singularities of the solution to a one-dimensional linear stochastic wave equation driven by an additive Gaussian noise that is white in time and colored in space. Our approach is based on a simultaneous law of the ...

The ab initio determination of electronic excited state (ES) properties is the cornerstone of theoretical photochemistry. Yet, traditional ES methods become impractical when applied to fairly large molecules, or when used on thousands of systems. Machine l ...

The invention relates to methods and systems for determining the intention of a subject to perform a voluntary action based on the analysis of the subject's respiratory phases and neuroelectrical signals. ...

Car-sharing systems are an attractive alternative to private vehicles due to their benefits in terms of mobility and sustainability. However, the distribution of vehicles throughout the network in one-way systems is disturbed due to asymmetry and stochasti ...

In several domains of physics, including first principle simulations and classical models for polarizable systems, the minimization of an energy function with respect to a set of auxiliary variables must be performed to define the dynamics of physical degr ...

Donor-acceptor (D-A) copolymers have shown great potential for intramolecular singlet fission (iSF). Nonetheless, very few design principles exist for optimizing these systems for iSF, with very little knowledge about how to engineer them for this purpose. ...

The value of a life settlement investment, manifested through a traded life insurance policy, is highly dependent on the insured's life expectancy (LE). LE estimation in life settlements relies heavily on medical underwriting. Employing different evaluatio ...

Combining diffusion strategies with complementary properties enables enhanced performance when they can be run simultaneously. In this article, we first propose two schemes for the convex combination of two diffusion strategies, namely, the power-normalize ...

In this article we study imaginary Gaussian multiplicative chaos-namely a family of random generalized functions which can formally be written as e(iX(x)), where X is a log-correlated real-valued Gaussian field on R-d, that is, it has a logarithmic singula ...

Coupled dynamical systems are omnipresent in everyday life. In general, interactions between individual elements composing the system are captured by complex networks. The latter greatly impact the way coupled systems are functioning and evolving in time. ...

Solidification is a phase transformation of utmost importance in material science, for it largely controls materials' microstructure on which a wide range of mechanical properties depends. Almost every human artifact undergoes a transformation that leads t ...

Here, we discuss a novel, mixed mode 3D XYZ scanner built within a single foundry process. The device has a large range of motion in X, Y, and Z (14.1 mu m in X and Y and 97.9 mu m in Z) and can also rotate about two axes (7.4 degrees), making it a 5 degre ...

Thermal boundary conductance (TBC) of the Ag/diamond and Au/diamond interfaces with a nanometer-thick interface layer of either nickel or molybdenum is measured by time domain thermoreflectance and modeled based on a 3-layer two-temperature model (3l-TTM). ...

We explore a few algebraic and geometric structures, through certain questions posed by modern cryptography. We focus on the cases of discrete logarithms in finite fields of small characteristic, the structure of isogeny graphs of ordinary abelian varietie ...

We will present and discuss some of the great research challenges and opportunities related to 21st century energy efficient computing and sensing devices and systems, in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution. In the future, major innovati ...

Let G be a connected reductive algebraic group over an algebraically closed field k,gamma is an element of g( k(( epsilon ))) a semisimple regular element, we introduce a fundamental domain F gamma for the affine Springer fibers X gamma. We show that the p ...
