Alastair Thomas Matthew Marsh

I joined LMC as a Scientist in August 2023. Prior to working at EPFL I undertook post-doctoral research in the School of Civil Engineering, University of Leeds, UK (2019-2023) on a range of innovative processing and characterisation methods to develop a new generation of low impact cementitious binders. My PhD research was carried out in the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering, University of Bath, UK (2015-2019) on alkali activation of clays and soils for soil stabilisation applications. As part of my PhD, I undertook a research placement at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India (August 2018). Before this, I worked in the Sustainability & Physics group of BuroHappold Engineering (2013-205), undertaking BREEAM environmental building assessments and energy modelling. I undertook my undergraduate degree in Materials Science at the University of Oxford, UK (2009-2013).
