As a hydrogeologist passionate about sustainable development, my research focuses on quantifying groundwater resources and exploring their potential to foster sustainable societal development. Previously, I characterized the impacts of global change on groundwater resources in Canada and Lebanon. Currently, I am assessing the potential of Nature-based solutions to mitigate flooding in Nouakchott, Mauritania. Consequently, I have developed a deep understanding of the links between climate and hydro(geo)logical dynamics. My research is based on both data-driven and modeling approaches, which has led me to develop the open-source HydroBudget model for spatio-temporal estimates of groundwater recharge, create original methods for scanning large datasets, and collaborate with transdisciplinary teams, guiding me toward the path of eco-hydrogeology.
