We report the resonantly enhanced radiative emission from a single SiGe quantum dot (QD), which is deterministically embedded into a bichromatic photonic crystal resonator (PhCR) at the position of its largest modal electric field by a scalable method. By ...

Integrated quantum photonics leverages the on-chip generation of nonclassical states of light to realize key functionalities of quantum devices. Typically, the generation of such nonclassical states relies on whispering gallery mode resonators, such as int ...

Establishing relations between fundamental effects in far-flung areas of physics is a subject of great interest in the current research. Realization of a novel photonic system akin to the radio-frequency superconducting quantum interference device (RF-SQUI ...

We demonstrate an integrated source of frequency-entangled photon pairs on a silicon photonics chip. The emitter has a coincidence-to-accidental ratio exceeding 10(3). We prove entanglement by showing two-photon frequency interference with a visibility of ...

Achieving the regime of single-photon nonlinearities in photonic devices by just exploiting the intrinsic high-order susceptibilities of conventional materials would open the door to practical semiconductor-based quantum photonic technologies. Here we show ...

Chip -scale optical frequency combs enable the generation of highly -coherent pulsed light at gigahertz-level repetition rates, with potential technological impact ranging from telecommunications to sensing and spectroscopy. In combination with techniques ...

Quasi-phase-matching (QPM) is a widely adopted technique for mitigating stringent momentum conservation in nonlinear optical processes such as second-harmonic generation (SHG). It effectively compensates for the phase velocity mismatch between optical harm ...

Nonlinear epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) nanodevices featuring vanishing permittivity and CMOS-compatibility are attractive solutions for large-scale-integrated systems-on-chips. Such confined systems with unavoidable heat generation impose critical challenges fo ...

We present a narrow-linewidth second-harmonic source based on a laser diode injection locked to an optically poled silicon nitride microresonator. The device is a compact, highly-coherent dual-wavelength source, with high conversion efficiency up to 280%/W ...

We present a novel device consisting of two microring resonators coupled by the second-order nonlinear interaction. By independently controlling the microresonators' linear properties, we engineer efficient second-harmonic generation through photo-induced ...

Epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) materials, characterized by their near-zero permittivity, ease of fabrication, enhanced nonlinearity, and compatibility for nano-fabrication, have positioned themselves as alluring solutions for large-scale integrated systems-on-chi ...

On-chip coherent light generation has wide-ranging applications in metrology, spectroscopy, quantum optics, etc. In this study, we demonstrate the generation of coherent light from a silicon-nitride microring resonator using cascaded nonlinear processes. T ...

Microresonators are powerful tools to enhance the efficiency of second-order nonlinear optical processes, such as second-harmonic generation, which can coherently bridge octave-spaced spectral bands. However, dispersion constraints such as phase-matching a ...

We show how spatiotemporal quasi-phase-matching emerges from all-optical poling of silicon nitride microresonators. Enabled by the coherent photogalvanic effect, the photoinduced χ(2) grating oscillates in space and time, yielding quasi-phase-matched and D ...

We develop a device consisting of two silicon nitride microresonators coupled by photo-induced second-order nonlinearity. By electrically reconfiguring its linear properties, we engineer efficient resonant frequency doubling in the telecom band and show th ...

We experimentally demonstrate for the first time, the efficient input-dependent dual-range frequency shifts of 279.73 GHz and 3.63 THz in a mode-locked fiber laser with an intracavity epsilon-near-zero element. Real-time observation reveals that the presen ...
