Expertise Sven Najem-Meyer is a Doctoral Assistant at the Digital Humanities Laboratory, working at the frontier between machine learning and classics. His research interests mainly lie in natural language processing, with a focus on domain-specific transfer learning strategies. Before joining the DHLAB, he studied cognitive sciences, logic and philosophy. He gained experience in NLP at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble, working in patent classification. As part of the SNF-funded project Ajax MultiCommentary, Sven's research is included in a broader computational approach to the study of ancient greek literature. His goal is to leverage and develop new NLP frameworks capable of extracting information from a wide corpus of classical commentaries, a task made particularly challenging by the extreme multilingualism and domain specificity of the data. In the end, the objective of the project is to trace the dynamics of information transmission throughout the corpus.
