The power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells is approaching the Shockley-Queisser limit, and therefore this technology is next to the commercialization stage. Inexpensive and stable hole transporting materials are highly desirable for the succ ...

Surface passivation is a critical factor for improving the photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cells. However, more robust principle investigations are required to build effective passivation strategies enabling high-performance perovskite solar c ...

In this work, we identify the importance of C-60 and compact-TiO2 (cTiO(2)) as electron transport layers on the device performance of coevaporated n-i-p perovskite solar cells. We found (1) a synergetic effect between both layers when extracting the charge ...

New Spiro-OMeTAD analogues and the simpler "half" structures with the terminated methoxyphenyl and/or carbazolyl chromophores are successfully synthesized under Hartwig-Buchwald amination conditions using commercially available starting materials. New fluo ...

To attain commercial viability, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have to be reasonably priced, highly efficient, and stable for a long period of time. Although a new record of a certified power conversion efficiency (PCE) value over 25% was achieved, PSC perf ...

One of the obstacles to the commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is the high price and morphological instability of the most common hole-transporting material (HTM) Spiro-OMeTAD. Herein, a novel HTM, termed V1160, based on four N,N '-bis(3-me ...

The synthesis of three enamine hole-transporting materials (HTMs) based on Troger's base scaffold are reported. These compounds are obtained in a three-step facile synthesis from commercially available materials without the need of expensive catalysts, ine ...

Hybrid lead halide perovskites have reached comparable efficiencies to state-of-the-art silicon solar cell technologies. However, a remaining key challenge toward commercialization is the resolution of the perovskite device instability. In this work, we id ...

Triarylamine end-capped-functionalized arylene-imidazole derivatives were synthesized from readily accessible, inexpensive precursors and employed as hole transporting materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). All the HTMs displayed high thermal d ...

Hybrid lead halide perovskites typically form polycrystalline films that have multiple grain sizes and surface defects. A key engineering challenge toward commercialization is therefore the production of homogeneous, defect-free largearea devices achieving ...

Passivation approaches of perovskite surface are key to improve the light stability of perovskite solar cells. However, a passivation strategy is still required to enhance the durability of the perovskite layer. Here, a promising passivation concept is dem ...

The lack of organic non-fullerene ETMs with good electron transport and device stability is an important problem for the further development and commercialization of perovskite solar cells. Herein, the use of SubPcs as ETMs in PSCs is explored. To this end ...

Two novel and simple donor-pi-bridge-donor (D-pi-D) hole-transporting materials (HTMs) containing two units of the p-methoxytriphenylamine (TPA) electron donor group covalently bridged by means of the 3,4-dimethoxyselenophene spacer through single and trip ...

Finding new hole-transporting materials (HTMs) suitable for replacing the state-of-the-art spiro-OMe-TAD is still challenging. In this work, newly synthesized diarylamine-substituted metal phthalocyanines (MPcs, M 1/4 Zn(II) or Cu(II)) functionalized with ...

Thermal vacuum deposition is a stimulating technique for upscaling perovskite solar cells. However, the operational complexity of multisource vapor deposition (MSVD) and achieving stoichiometric perovskite layers may impede its implementation. The single-s ...

the most studied perovskite‑based solar cells reported up to date contain the toxic lead in its composition. photovoltaic research and development towards non‑toxic, lead‑free perovskite solar cells are critical to finding alternatives to reduce human heal ...

Due to their strong acceptor properties and enhanced charge transport capabilities, non-fullerene electron acceptors based on pi-extended derivatives - subnaphthalocyanines (SubNc) or subphtalocyanine dimers (SubPc(2)) - have been employed in organic photo ...

Non-fullerene ETMs are emerging as a hot topic in the field of PSCs due to the inherent shortcomings of fullerene derivatives. Herein, the potential of SubPcs as ETMs in PSCs has been evaluated. To this end, ETMs based on two SubPcs (with chlorine or fluor ...

Organic hole-transporting materials (HTMs) based on the Ullazine core yield so far only moderate power conversion efficiencies of up to 13.08% in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Aiming to fabricate efficient and stable PSCs, novel Ullazine derivatives beari ...
