Camille Véronique Bernadette GoemansCamille's research focuses on understanding how antibiotics and non-antibiotic drugs affect the diverse bacteria from the human gut microbiota and how they contribute to dysbiosis and the development of antibiotic resistance. To achieve this goal, she combines systems approaches with molecular microbiology, bacterial genetics and biochemistry. She obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biomedical Sciences from the UCLouvain, Belgium, after which she completed her PhD (FRIA national fellowship) at th

Anne-Florence Raphaëlle BitbolI was trained in physics, and always had a strong interest in biology. I am broadly interested in understanding biological phenomena in a quantitative way, through physical concepts and mathematical and computational tools. I investigate the relative impacts of optimization and historical contingency in biological evolution, both at the scale of protein sequences and at the scale of microbial populations. Here is my research group website.Curriculum vitae Here is my complete CV. Jiancheng YangI am a 4th-year PhD student in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, advised by Prof. Bingbing Ni. I received BEng and MEng degree in the Department of Automation from the same university. Enrolled in a double master degree program, I spent 2 years in France with an Engineer degree. I was a visiting research fellow in Visual Computing Group at Harvard University. I am now visiting EPFL CVLAB, working with Prof. Pascal Fua.I focus on medical image analysis, 3D computer vision and trustworthy machine learning, with a clinical emphasis on lung cancer and thoracic diseases. I have (co-)first-authored more than 10 papers on top-tier journals / conferences, e.g., Cancer Research, CVPR, MICCAI and NeurIPS. I was a reviewer for more than 10 prestigious venues, a top-ranking participant for several AI competitions, and the lead organizer for MICCAI 2020 RibFrac Challenge.Updated on April, 2021.

The goal of the Programmable Biomaterials Lab is to understand the molecular design rules behind selective multivalent interactions at the bio-interface. We use DNA as engineering tool to explore the importance of structural mechanics and precise control of valency and patterns on directional interactions and self-assembly.
