A measurement of the time-integrated CP asymmetry in D (0) -> K (S) (0) K (S) (0) decays is reported. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of about 2 fb(-1) collected in 2015-2016 by the LHCb collaboration in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass en ...

The (B) over bar (0)(s) -> chi(c2) K+ K- decay mode is observed and its branching fraction relative to the corresponding chi(c1) decay mode, in a +/- 15MeV/c(2) window around the phi mass, is found to be B ((B) over bar (0)(s) -> chi(c2) K+ K-)/B((B) over ...

Data produced by an electron cyclotron interferometer diagnostic are now available to the real-time control systems of of the joint European torus (JET) tokamak. The data consist of absolutely calibrated electron temperature profiles, covering the plasma l ...

An amplitude analysis of B-0 ((+-))(K+-) decays is performed in the two-body invariant mass regions 300 < m((+-)) < 1100 MeV/c(2), accounting for the (0), , f(0)(500), f(0)(980) and f(0)(1370) resonances, and 750 < m(K+-) < 1200 MeV/c(2), which is dominate ...

A search for CP and P violation using triple- product asymmetries is performed with Lambda(0)(b) -> pK(-) pi(+) pi(-), Lambda(0)(b) -> pK(-) K+ K- and Xi(0)(b) -> pK(-) K- pi(+) decays. The data sample corresponds to integrated luminosities of 1.0 fb(-1) a ...

The aim of this paper is to present a signal processing algorithm that, applied to the raw Locked Mode signal, allows us to obtain a disruption indicator in principle exploitable on different tokamaks. A common definition of such an indicator for different ...

Coherent production of J/psi mesons is studied in lead-lead collision data at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of about 10 mu b(-1). The J/psi, mesons ar ...

The tokamak a configuration variable (TCV) continues to leverage its unique shaping capabilities, flexible heating systems and modern control system to address critical issues in preparation for ITER and a fusion power plant. For the 2019-20 campaign its c ...

In ASDEX Upgrade, the propagation of cold pulses induced by type-I edge localized modes (ELMs) is studied using electron cyclotron emission measurements, in a dataset of plasmas with moderate triangularity. It is found that the edge safety factor or the pl ...

We report measurements of charm-mixing parameters based on the decay-time-dependent ratio of D-0 -> K+pi(-) to D-0 -> K-pi(+) rates. The analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1) recorde ...

A measurement of the charm-mixing parameter Y-CP using D-0 -> K+K-, D-0 -> pi(+)pi(-), and D-0 -> K-pi(+)decays is reported. The D-0 mesons are required to originate from semimuonic decays of B- and (B) over bar (0)mesons. These decays are partially recons ...

The first observation of two structures consistent with resonances in the final states Lambda(0)(b)pi(-) and Lambda(0)(b)pi(+) thorn is reported using samples of pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at root s = 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to a ...

The cross section for prompt antiproton production in collisions of protons with an energy of 6.5 TeV incident on helium nuclei at rest is measured with the LHCb experiment from a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.5 nb(-1). The target ...

The doubly charmed baryon decay Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi(+)(c)pi(+) is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance of 5.9 sigma, confirming a recent observation of the baryon in the Lambda K-+(c)-pi(+)pi(+) final state. The data sample used corres ...

Local gyrokinetic simulations with the GENE code are used to investigate the turbulent transport for different levels of neutral beam injection heating power in the Tokamak a Configuration Variable (TCV) for plasmas with both positive and negative edge tri ...

A search is performed for a spin-0 boson, phi, produced in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, using prompt phi -> mu(+)mu(-) decays and a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 3.0 fb(-1) col ...

An analysis of the angular distribution of the decay Λ b 0 → Λμ+μ− is presented, using data collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2016 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 5 fb−1. Angular observables are determined us ...

The negative triangularity tokamak (NTT) is a unique reactor concept based on 'power-handling-first' philosophy with the heat exhaust problem as the leading concern. The present paper exposes a reactor concept using L-mode edge based on NTT configuration, ...
