We establish insulator-to-metal transition (IMT) in Vanadium dioxide (VO2) by millimeter-wave (mm-wave) actuation, using two coupled dipole antennas: a simple one as a continuous mm-wave-source and the other one with an embedded VO2 part as an absorber. We ...

Thermochromic GexV1-xO2+y thin films have been deposited on Si (100) substrates by means of reactive magnetron sputtering. The films were then characterized by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS), four-point probe electrical resistivity measuremen ...

Hydroxide exchange membrane fuel cell (HEMFC) is a potentially cost-effective energy conversion technology. However, current state-of-the-art HEMFCs require a high loading of platinum-group-metal (PGM) catalysts, especially for the hydrogen oxidation react ...

Cu-Co-Mn spinel oxide thin films are deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering. The x-ray diffraction (XRD) spectrum suggests a nanocrystalline spinel film when sputtered at approximate to 465 degrees C. In-line scanning tunneling microscopy confirms nano ...

Low-emissive Transparent Conductive Oxide (TCO) coatings, such as Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) films, can be used to reduce radiative losses that affect Hybrid photovoltaic-thermal (PV-T) devices. This work shows the optical properties of ITO deposited by magnet ...

A thermochromic vanadium dioxide (VO2) based absorber coating is proposed. The optical response of the multilayered absorber is first simulated, then, the spectral reflectance of the deposited absorber is measured. The determined solar absorptance and ther ...

In this work we report a new class of ultra-thin film devices based on n-n van der Waals (vdW) heteroj unctions of MoS2 and VO2, which show remarkable tunable characteristics. The favorable band alignment combined with the sharp and clean vdW interface det ...

Steep-slope transistors allow to scale down the supply voltage and the energy per computed bit of information as compared to conventional field-effect transistors (FETs), due to their sub-60 mV/decade subthreshold swing at room temperature. Currently pursu ...

Single- or multilayered coating, such as a selective solar absorber coating or a coating being part of an integrated electronic circuit, comprising one or more layers containing germanium (Ge) doped VO2+x, where -0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.1. ...
