Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite materials have risen up as leading components for light-harvesting applications. However, to date many questions are still open concerning the operation of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). A systematic analysis of the inte ...

In this work we show that the rate-dependent hysteresis seen in current-voltage scans of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite solar cells is related to a slow field-induced process that tends to cancel the electric field in the device at each applied bias voltage. It is ...

Herein, we describe the synthesis of a hole transporting material based on a partially planarised quart-p-phenylene core incorporating tetraketal and diphenylamine substituents that show optimal energy levels and solubility for perovskite solar cell applic ...

Small molecule donor/polymer acceptor bulk-heterojunction films with both compounds strongly absorbing have great potential for further enhancement of the performance of organic solar cells. By employing a newly synthesized small molecule donor with a comm ...

Layered hybrid perovskites comprising adamantyl spacer (A) cations based on the A(2)FA(n-1)Pb(n)I(3n+1)(n= 1-3, FA = formamidinium) compositions have recently been shown to act as promising materials for photovoltaic applications. While the corresponding p ...

High photovoltages and power conversion efficiencies of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) can be realized by controlling the undesired nonradiative charge carrier recombination. Here, we introduce a judicious amount of guanidinium iodide into mixed-cation and ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted much attention because of their rapid rise to 22% efficiencies. Here, we review the rapid evolution of PSCs as they enter a new phase that could revolutionize the photovoltaic industry. In particular, we describ ...

In this contribution we give an overview of the recent development of metal-halide perovskite solar cells. We focus on the mixed electronic-ionic conductivity of this material, which causes hysteresis in the current-voltage curve. We discuss latest results ...

Inorganic-organic lead-halide perovskite solar cells have reached efficiencies above 22% within a few years of research. Achieved photovoltages of >1.2 V are outstanding for a material with a bandgap of 1.6 eV - in particular considering that it is solutio ...

Mixtures of cations or halides with FAPbI(3) (where FA is formamidinium) lead to high efficiency in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) but also to blue-shifted absorption and long-term stability issues caused by loss of volatile methylammonium (MA) and phase se ...

The efficiencies of perovskite solar cells have gone from single digits to a certified 22.1% in a few years' time. At this stage of their development, the key issues concern how to achieve further improvements in efficiency and long-term stability. We revi ...

The remarkably high open-circuit voltage of methylammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells is investigated. Both the theoretical maximum and the real open-circuit voltage are predicted from electroluminescence and photovoltaic external quantum efficienc ...
