The goal of this thesis was to investigate light-matter interaction in nanophotonic devices based on site-controlled pyramidal quantum dots (QD) in photonic crystal (PhC) cavities. These QDs provide position and spectral control, which is hardly achievable ...

Remote coupling between quantum emitters is of great importance for constructing quantum networks. Conventionally, this can be achieved via photon exchange by incorporating the quantum emitters in a waveguide or a large cavity. However, such photonic struc ...

Radiation properties of a pointlike source of light, such as a molecule or a semiconductor quantum dot, can be tailored by modifying its photonic environment. This phenomenon lies at the core of cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED). Quantum dots in photon ...

The time-resolved physical spectrum of luminescence is theoretically studied for a standard cavity quantum electrodynamics system. In contrast to the power spectrum for the steady state, the correlation functions up to the present time are crucial for the ...

We propose and investigate a new type of photonic crystal (PhC) cavity for integrated quantum photonics, which provides tailored optical modes with both confined and extended spatial components. The structures consist of elongated PhC cavities in which the ...

We demonstrate selective optical coupling of multiple, site controlled semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) to photonic crystal waveguide structures. The impact of the exact position and emission spectrum of the QDs on the coupling efficiency is elucidated. Th ...

The fabrication and characterization of site-controlled InGaAs/GaAs quantum dots (QDs) made by MOVPE using triethylgallium (TEGa) on patterned {111}B GaAs substrates are reported. Results are compared to more traditional pyramidal QD structures grown emplo ...

We describe the fabrication, epitaxial growth and photoluminescence (PL) spectra of systems of site-controlled pyramidal quantum dots (QDs) integrated with photonic crystal (PhC) membrane cavities. The spectra of the individual QDs are characterized by sca ...

We propose a Markovian quantum master equation that can describe the Fano effect directly, by assuming a standard cavity quantum electrodynamics system. The framework allows us to generalize the Fano formula, applicable over the weak- and strong-coupling r ...

We demonstrate several integrated photonics structures incorporating site-controlled quantum dots and photonic crystal cavities with tailored mode structures. Optimal designs for single photon extraction, routing and switching are presented and discussed. ...

Partial suppression of the spectral diffusion of quantum dot (QD) excitons tuned to resonance of a nano-photonic cavity is reported. The suppression is caused by the Purcell enhancement of the QD-exciton recombination rate, which alters the rate of chargin ...

Using site-controlled semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) free of multiexcitonic continuum states, integrated with photonic crystal membrane cavities, we clarify the effects of pure dephasing and phonon scattering on exciton-cavity coupling in the weak-coupli ...

Exciton and cavity mode (CM) dynamics in site-controlled pyramidal quantum dots (QDs), integrated with linear photonic crystal membrane cavities, are investigated for a range of temperatures and photo-excitation power levels. The absence of spurious multi- ...
