Metastable-state photoacids (mPAHs) are chemical species whose photo-activated state is long-lived enough to allow for proton diffusion. Liao's photoacid (1) represents the archetype of mPAHs, and is being widely used on account of its unique capability to ...

Irbesartan is a non-peptide antagonist of the angiotensin-II-AT1 receptor and is used for the treatment of hypertension. Here, the history, achievements and open questions related to irbesartan are examined. Tautomery of the tetrazole moiety leads to two d ...

Ruthenium(II) complexes with a three-legged piano-stool structure based on an arene ring, an N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-carbene ligand with a peracetylated glucose moiety and two chlorides or one bidentate ligand, were prepared and characterized by spect ...

Oxide is an attractive linker for building polymetallic complexes that provide molecular models for metal oxide activity, but studies of these systems are limited to metals in high oxidation states. Herein, we synthesized and characterized the molecular an ...

Despite their synthetic interest and potential attractive properties, the preparation of heteroleptic U(III) complexes containing monodentate ligands remains challenging. Here we report the synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of three heteroleptic ...

The synthesis of three potentially tetradentate, N2S2 Schiff-base-ligands, containing a disulfide bond, (LSSLThio)-S-Thio(L1), (LSSLBr)-S-Br(L2) and (LSSLDiMeO)-S-DiMeO (L3) are reported. These ligands undergo reductive disulfide bond scission upon reactio ...

The bidentate carboxamide ligand N-(thiazole-2-yl) picolinamide (LH) was synthesized in the environmentally friendly ionic liquid TBAB, and the five-coordinated Cu-II-complex, [Cu(L)(2)(H2O)]center dot CHCl3 (1) was synthesized from LH and copper(II)acetat ...

Applying additives to perovskite precursor solutions is an effective way to passivate perovskite films for the construction of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with increased power-conversion efficiencies (PCEs) and enhanced stabilities. Ionic liquids (ILs) w ...

synthesized and characterized by H-1, C-13, P-31 NMR and IR spectroscopies. The reaction of MnCl2 center dot 4H(2)O with L led to the formation of a new 3D system {MnL2Cl2}(n)center dot 34CH(3)OH (C-1). X-ray crystallographic data revealed that the ligand ...

The synthesis of new conjugated bisdemethoxycurcumin ligands, each incorporating a distinct acyl substituent—cyclic, aliphatic, heteroaromatic, or branched—in place of the native hydroxyl groups, has been reported. These ligands were employed to prepare th ...

Hqpzc has been synthesized by a highly efficient procedure using the ionic liquid TBAB as an environmentally benign reaction medium. [Cu(qpzc)(OAc)]H2O (1) and [Zn(qpzc)(OAc)(H2O)] (2), complexes of the deprotonated ligand, qpzc [qpzc ...

Multilayer vesicles with an onion-like architecture can form by self-assembly of organic amphiphiles such as dendrimers, small-molecule surfactants, and block copolymers. Thus far, there are limited reports about multilayer vesicles based on coordination c ...

A series of Ga(Q(n))(3) coordination compounds have been synthesized, where HQ(n) is 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-RC(=O)-pyrazolo-5-one. The complexes have been characterized through analytical data, NMR and IR spectroscopy, ESI mass spectrometry, elemental analysi ...

Some triphenyltin(IV) adducts with a family of diphosphoryl ligands, RR'P(O)-X-P(O)RR' (R = OPh, Ph, R' = R, An (aniline)) and X = 1,4-OC6H4O, 1,4-OC6H4NH, 1,4-NHC6H4NH 1,4-(NHCH2)(2)C6H4, 1,3-(NHCH2)(2)C6H4 and piperazine have been synthesized and charact ...

Ethynylbenziodoxol(on)e (EBX) cyclic hypervalent iodine reagents have become popular reagents for the alkynylation of radicals and nucleophiles, but only offer limited possibilities for further structure and reactivity fine-tuning. Herein, the synthesis of ...

Four new Schiff-bases have been synthesized from the 1:2 M condensation of 4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzothiazole-2,6-diamine with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (SL3), 5-Bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (SL2), 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (SL3) and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehy ...

Iron(II) cage complexes with terminal 4-pyridyl groups can be incorporated in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) via solvent-assisted ligand exchange (SALE). Paddle -wheeled MOFs with N,N'-di-4-pyridylnaphthalenete-tracarboxydiimide pillars were used as start ...

Multimetallic-multielectron cooperativity plays a key role in the metal-mediated cleavage of N-2 to nitrides (N3-). In particular, low-valent uranium complexes coupled with strong alkali metal reducing agents can lead to N-2 cleavage, but often, it is ambi ...

The structural, spectroscopic, and electrochemical properties of [Co{(naph)(2)dien}(N-3)] and [Co{(naph)(2)dpt}(N-3)], where (naph)(2)dien=bis-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldimine)-N-diethylenetriaminedianion and (naph)(2)dpt=bis-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldimine)-N-dipr ...

Out of the 14 lanthanide (Ln) ions, molecular complexes of Ln(IV) were known only for cerium and more recently terbium. Here we demonstrate that the +IV oxidation state is also accessible for the large praseodymium (Pr) cation. The oxidation of the tetraki ...
