Thin film silicon solar cells benefit from a lower fabrication cost than crystalline silicon cells, but they have a lower efficiency. The aim of this thesis was to explore the light-management capabilities of sub-micron polymer-based textures, both for the ...

The energy efficiency of production processes for components of solar energy systems is an important issue. Other factors, which are important for the production of black selective solar coatings include production speed, cycle time and homogeneity of the ...

A novel concept for an advanced fenestration system was studied and samples were produced to demonstrate the feasibility. The resulting novel glazing will combine the functions of daylighting, glare protection, and seasonal thermal control. Coated microstr ...

Light-trapping textures were produced in hyperbranched polymer (HBP) silica nanocomposites using a UV-nanoimprint lithography (UVNIL) replication method, either in batch or roll-to-roll processes. The hardness of the HBP was found to increase by a factor o ...

In this study, we demonstrate by simulation and experiment the antireflective (AR) performance of hyperbranched polymer (HBP) nanocomposites textures replicated from a moth-eye pattern using ultraviolet (UV) nanoimprint lithography. A UV-curable acrylated ...

Multi layered chrome-free black selective surfaces for solar thermal energy conversion were produced by a low-cost sol gel dip-coating method. The optical properties of the Cu-Co-Mn-Si-O based nanocrystalline thin films have been characterized by spectroph ...

In this paper, we report the preparation of the precursor solutions for the deposition of Cu-Co-Mn-Si oxides by a sot-gel method in order to produce black selective coatings for CSP receiver tubes. Their optical properties were investigated by means of spe ...

Transparent hyperbranched acrylate nanocomposites were produced using different combinations of silica nanoparticles and silicon-based sol-gel precursors. The nanocomposites were processed using a dual-cure UV polymerization and condensation scheme. The vi ...

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems are increasingly used to support the rapid growth in mobile traffic. Their ability of multiplying the data capacity is especially suitable in 4G-5G wireless railway communications. However, MIMO efficiency is l ...
