This research addresses the challenge of incorporating dynamic range limiting of the magnitude response of HRTFs for hearing-impaired listeners who are using binaural hearing aids. In this application, a direct implementation of spatialization using the or ...

The constant increase of road traffic requires closer and closer road network monitoring. The awareness of traffic characteristics in real time as well as its historical trends, facilitates decision-making for flow regulation, triggering relief operations, ...

This article introduces the constraints and issues related to the implementation of a binaural localization algorithm on a pair of hearing aids. The algorithm should improve the rendering of the spatial information available in the audio signals, which are ...

There is provided a hearing assistance system, comprising a transmission unit (10) comprising a microphone arrangement (17) for capturing audio signals from a voice of a speaker ( 11 ) using the transmission unit and being adapted to transmit the audio sig ...

This paper focuses on road traffic monitoring using sounds and proposes, more specifically, a microphone array design methodology for observing vehicle trajectory from acoustic-based correlation functions. In a former work, authors have shown that combinin ...

This paper focuses on acoustic road traffic monitoring and looks, more specifically, into the problem of speed and wheelbase length estimation of two-axle vehicles as they pass by. It is known that both front and rear axle trajectories may be dissociated u ...

The space immediately surrounding the body, i.e. peripersonal space (PPS), is represented by populations of multisensory neurons, from a network of premotor and parietal areas, which integrate tactile stimuli from the body’s surface with visual or auditory ...

A loudspeaker array is described including several circular sound emitters that are bunked. One circular sound emitter can be either a circular array of loudspeakers (kind 1) or a toroidal loudspeaker (kind 2). The loudspeaker array can be composed of circ ...

This study deals with localization and characterization of multiple sources by mean of an octahedral array processing. We show how correlations enable to both localize more sources that the number of sensors and estimate their sound level pressure simultan ...

L'environnement industriel ou urbain peut être composé de nombreuses sources nuisibles compétitives. Les stratégies optimales pour réduire le bruit nécessitent en amont une connaissance la plus précise possible des caractéristiques acoustiques et physiques ...

The paper addresses road traffic monitoring using a compact microphone array. More precisely, estimation of both speed and wheelbase distance of detected vehicles is performed. The detection algorithm is based on the comparison between theoretical and meas ...
