Numerous mobile applications and services require that devices are aware of their location. Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are the predominant enabling technology. But in order to deliver continuous and accurate location information provided by ...

The world of global navigation satellite systems has been enhanced with several new or improved signals in space aiming to optimize accuracy, reliability, navigation solution, and interoperability between different constellations. However, such development ...

The use of global navigation satellite system receivers for navigation still presents many challenges in urban canyon and indoor environments, where satellite availability is typically reduced and received signals are attenuated. To improve the navigation ...

The use of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers for navigation still presents many challenges, in particular in urban canyon and indoor environments where satellite availability is reduced and received signals are usually much atten- uated. ...

FP7 GAMMA-A project is a European project with the objective to develop a 3-frequency GPS/Galileo receiver concept for automotive mass-market applications. This receiver shall build on the excellent properties of the new and modernized wide-band Galileo an ...

Several studies have been done or have been started in order to extend the current aeronautical Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) DO-229D Minimum Operational Performance Specification (MOPS) SBAS standard mainly defined by the Radio Technical ComiteeC ...

New generation of satellite navigation signals, such as AltBOC (Alternative Binary Offset Keying), CBOC (Composite Binary Offset Keying) and TMBOC (Time Multiplex Binary Offset Keying) bring enhancements in the tracking process, such as more signal power, ...

The innovative spreading codes used to modulate the new Galileo signals creates new challenges for receiver designers. It is well known in GNSS systems that longer integration times are needed to obtain a better sensitivity. However, the existence of the n ...

In this paper, different correlation techniques (narrow correlator, double delta correlator and subcarrier processing) that can be applied to the new Galileo alternate binary offset carrier AltBOC(15,10) modulation are discussed with respect to their funct ...

This paper brings additional light on the previously proposed two-step tracking algorithm for E1 CBOC tracking. More specifically, assessment of the different DLL and PLL tracking loop architectures are analyzed, taking into consideration coherent and non- ...

This paper describes a generalisation of the aeronautical GNSS Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) air interface, in a true worldwide multimodal standard named Universal S-BAS. Examples of usages of this multifrequency future standard are presented in t ...

GNSS platforms such as the American Global Positioning System (GPS) or the Russian GLONASS system are being continuously updated with new satellites offering new signals, new frequencies and new functionalities. Moreover, new GNSS systems such as the Europ ...

Multipath mitigation in urban canyons and indoor environments is an open issue for the reception of GNSS signals for high precision applications, as the presence of multipath components can lead to signal fading and ranging errors. New families of navigati ...

The introduction of new modulations on the global navigation satellite systems brings potential improvements for ground positioning. Clever receiver designs taking advantage of the characteristics of the new signals will be able to achieve better accuracy, ...
