Francesco StellacciFrancesco Stellacci graduated in Materials Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano in 1998 with a thesis on photochromic polymers with Prof. Giuseppe Zerbi and Mariacarla Gallazzi. In 1999 he moved to the Chemistry Department of the University of Arizona for as a post-doc in the group of Joe Perry in close collaboration with the group of Seth Marder. In 2002 he moved to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an assistant professor. He was then promoted to associate without (2006) and with tenure (2009). In 2010 he moved to the Institute of Materials at EPFL as a full Professor. He holds the Alcan EP Chair. Francesco was one of the recipients of the Technology Review TR35 "35 Innovator under 35" award in 2005, and the Popular Science Magazine "Brilliant 10" award in 2007. He has been a Packard Fellow starting 2005.
Luciano Andres AbriataEnseignement et PhD Cours Basic and advanced NMR - Level 1 A (EPFL) CH-601(x) Basic and advanced NMR - Level 2 (EPFL) CH-703 The goal is to give a sound theoretical and practical foundation in NMR for various applications in research. PhD students and post-docs who have followed the course successfully should be able to perform modern multi-dimensional NMR experiments independently. Bruno Emanuel Ferreira De Sousa CorreiaThroughout my PhD and postdoctoral studies I was trained in world-renowned laboratories and institutions in the United States of America (University of Washington and The Scripps Research Institute). Very early in my scientific career I found out my fascination about protein structure and function. My PhD studies evolved in the direction of immunogen design and vaccine engineering which sparked my interest in the many needs and opportunities in vaccinology and translational research. My efforts resulted in an enlightening piece of work where for the first time, computationally designed immunogens elicited potent neutralizing antibodies. During my postdoctoral studies I joined a chemical biology laboratory at the Scripps Research Institute. In this stage I developed novel chemoproteomics methods for the identification of protein-small molecule interaction sites in complex proteomes. In March 2015, I joined the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) – Switzerland as a tenure track assistant professor. The focus of my research group is to develop computational tools for protein design with particular emphasis in applying these strategies to immunoengineering (e.g. vaccine and cancer immunotherapy). The activities in my laboratory focus on computational design methods development and experimental characterization of the designed proteins. Our laboratory has been awarded with 2 prestigious research grants from the European Research Council. Lastly, I have been awarded the prize for best teacher of Life sciences in 2019.

Marwan Muhammad Ahmed AbdellahMarwan Abdellah, a self-motivated engineer born in Cairo, Egypt in 1987. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biomedical Engieering with distinction with honor from the Systems & Biomedical Engineering Department (SBME), Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University in 2009 and 2012 respectively. After graduation, he worked as a Research Engineer at IBE Technologies's R&D Department in a 4D ultrasound machines project. Then he moved to work as an Associate Software Engineer at the Biomedical Department in Symbyo Technologies. Afterwards, he joined the Multimedia Laboratory in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) to conduct a research on H.264 & Reconfigurable Video Coding. Currently, he is working as a Scentific Visualization Engineer in the Blue Brain Project led by Prof. Henery Markram in the Brain Mind Institute at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL). Along with his professional career, Abdellah worked as an instructor at NILES (National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science) in Cairo University. He taught two courses in the areas of Computer Graphics and High Performance Computing. He focused in his M.Sc. thesis research on implementing high performance volume rendering techniques for large scale medical data on heterogeneous platforms. He succeeded in constructing a high performance Fourier Volume Render running entirely on CUDA-enable GPUs. Among his research intersets are High Perfromance Computing, Heterogenous Comuting, Visualization, Scalable Rendering, Computer Graphics & Modelling, Medical Image Processing, Video Processing & Reconfigurable Video Coding, Abdellah has been awarded a graphics card from NVIDIA during attending a workshop in High Performance Computing at the Intenational Center of Theoritical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy. His graduation project was honored by ITIDA and Egyptian Ministres of Telecommunications & Higher Education during a celebration organized by ITIDA in March 2010.
