Absolute luminosity measurements are of general interest for colliding-beam experiments at storage rings. These measurements are necessary to determine the absolute cross-sections of reaction processes and are valuable to quantify the performance of the ac ...

A combination of three LHCb measurements of the CKM angle gamma is presented. The decays B-+/- -> DK +/- and B-+/- -> D pi(+/-) are used, where D denotes an admixture of D-0 and (D) over bar (0) mesons, decaying into K+K-, pi(+)pi(-), K-+/-pi(-/+), K-+/-pi ...

A sample of 114 +/- 11 B-s(0) -> J/psi K- pi(+) signal events obtained with 0.37 fb(-1) of pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment is used to measure the branching fraction and polarization amplitudes of the B-s(0) -> J/psi(K) over ...

Branching fractions of the decays H-b -> H-c pi(-)pi(+)pi(-) relative to H-b -> H-c pi(-) are presented, where H-b (H-c) represents (B) over bar (0) (D+), B-(D-0), (B) over bar (0)(s) (D-s(+)), and Lambda(0)(b) (Lambda(+)(c)). The measurements are performe ...

A broad peaking structure is observed in the dimuon spectrum of B+ -> K+mu(+)mu(-) decays in the kinematic region where the kaon has a low recoil against the dimuon system. The structure is consistent with interference between the B+ -> K+mu(+)mu(-) decay ...

The effective lifetime of the (B) over bar (0)(s) meson in the decay mode (B) over bar (0)(s) -> J / psi f(0)(980) is measured using 1.0 fb(-1) of data collected in p p collisions at root s = 7 TeV with the LHCb detector. The result is 1.700 +/- 0.040 +/- ...

A search for the decay B-s(0) -> D*(-/+)pi(+/-) is presented using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) of pp collisions collected by LHCb. This decay is expected to be mediated by a W-exchange diagram, with little contribu ...

Heavy quark production in 7 TeV centre-of-mass energy pp collisions at the LHC is not necessarily flavour symmetric. The production asymmetry, A(P), between D-s(+) and D-s(-) mesons is studied using the phi pi(+/-) decay mode in a data sample of 1.0 fb(-1) ...

The decay mode B-s(0) -> (DsK +/-)-K--/+ allows for one of the theoretically cleanest measurements of the CKM angle gamma through the study of time-dependent CP violation. This paper reports a measurement of its branching fraction relative to the Cabibbo-f ...

A study of D+pi(-), D-0 pi(+) and D0+pi(-) final states is performed using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV with the LHCb detector. The D-1(2420)(0) resonance is obser ...

The ratio of branching fractions of the radiative B decays B-0 -> K*(0)gamma and B(0)s -> phi gamma has been measured using 0.37 fb(-1) of pp collisions at a center of mass energy of root s = 7 TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment. The value obtained is B ...

Measurements of b hadron production ratios in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 3 pb(-1) are presented. We study the ratios of strange B meson to light B meson production f(s)/(f(u) + f(d)) and La ...

Charm production at the LHC in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV is studied with the LHCb detector. The decays D-0 -> K-pi(+), D+ -> K-pi(+)pi(+), D*(+) -> D-0(K-pi(+))pi(+), D-s(+) -> phi(K-K+)pi(+), Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+), and their charge conjugates a ...

The ratio of branching fractions of the radiative B decays B-0 -> K-*0 gamma and B-s(0) -> phi gamma has been measured using an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = ...

A search for associated production of a Z boson with an open charm meson is presented using a data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7TeV, collected by the LHCb experimen ...

The decay B-0 -> psi(2S)K+pi(-) is analyzed using 3 fb(-1) of pp collision data collected with the LHCb detector. A model-independent description of the psi(2S)pi mass spectrum is obtained, using as input the K pi mass spectrum and angular distribution der ...

An angular analysis of the decay J/psi ->mu (+) mu (-) is performed to measure the polarization of prompt J/psi mesons produced in pp collisions at . The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 0.37 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. The m ...

Charged particle production in proton-proton collisions is studied with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV in different intervals of pseudorapidity eta. Charged particles are reconstructed close to the interaction region in the ...

An angular analysis of the decay B (0) -> phi K (*)(892)(0) is reported based on a pp collision data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected at a centre-of-mass energy of root S = 7 TeV with the LHCb detector. The P-wave ...

The decay Bc(+) -> J/psi pi(+) pi(-) pi(+) is observed for the first time, using 0.8 fb(-1) of pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment. The ratio of branching fractions B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) pi(-) pi(+))/B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+)) ...
