Malaria continues to pose a significant global health challenge, with substantial impediments arising from the need for more reliable, effective, and economically viable diagnostic tools, particularly for early detection. This research introduces a novel m ...

Wearable devices are nowadays at the edge-front in both academic research as well as in industry, and several wearable devices have been already introduced in the market. One of the most recent advancements in wearable technologies for biosensing is in the ...

In this work, we showed the realization of a fully- implantable device that integrates a microfabricated sensing platform, a coil for power and data transmission and integrated circuits. We described a device intended to test the biocompati- bility of the ...

We present a novel circuit for the automated and quick characterization of an array of experimental memristive nanowires that are functionalized as biosensors. Successfully functionalized nanowires will express the concentration of target molecules by hyst ...

Biosensors have been applied to disparate fields, especially for endogenous compounds such as glucose and lactate. The main areas of application are certainly related to medical and diagnostic purposes. However, metabolic monitoring can be also of interest ...

We present a new method for electrochemical sensing, which compensates the fouling effect of propofol through machine learning (ML) model. Direct and continuous monitoring of propofol is crucial in the development of automatic systems for control of drug i ...

Microdevices dedicated to monitor metabolite levels have recently enabled many applications in the field of cell analysis, to monitor cell growth and development of numerous cell lines. By combining the traditional technology used for electrochemical biose ...

The design, realization, and preliminary test of a portable wireless system for measuring key metabolites (e.g., glucose, lactate, calcium, potassium, etc..) in intensive cure monitoring is presented. The system is composed by a 3D-Printed case, which incl ...

In this paper we propose CMOS-compatible Memristive-Biosensors as label-free, highly sensitive sensors for in-air detection of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) molecules. The memristive behavior of the fabricated devices is strongly affec ...

The present invention concerns a bodily implantable or probe device and microelectrode fabrication method comprising providing at least one silicon substrate including an electronic device or unit; providing, on a first side of the silicon substrate, at le ...

Direct and online continuous monitoring of anaesthetic intake by the patient's blood stream improves practices in the critical procedure of anaesthesia. Several systems have been proposed to address this challenge. Electrochemical techniques are highly app ...

Regenerative medicine is a novel clinical branch aiming at the cure of diseases by replacement of damaged tissues. The crucial use of stem cells makes this area rich of challenges, given the poorly understood mechanisms of differentiation. One highly neede ...

Recent advances in microelectronics and biosensors are enabling developments of innovative biochips for advanced healthcare by providing fully integrated platforms for continuous monitoring of a large set of human disease biomarkers. Continuous monitoring ...

There has been a lot of interest in developing and producing biodegradable polymers to address the current environmental problem caused by the continued usage of synthetic polymers derived from petroleum products. Bioplastics have been identified as a poss ...

In this work, we developed flexible polymer-based memristive-like devices specifically designed for biosensing applications. The fabricated devices consist of two gold electrodes connected by a biocompatible polymeric resistive layer made of poly(3,4-ethyl ...

This paper presents a lightweight cryptographic system integrated onto a multi-function implantable biosensor prototype. The resulting heterogeneous system provides a unique and fundamental capability by immediately encrypting and signing the sensor data u ...

This paper presents a novel impedance-sensing device and its related microfluidics system developed to characterize the macroscopical properties of bacteria and microparticles. The system is based on a phase-sensitive detector with square-waves excitation ...

Requirements for the miniaturization of electronics are constantly increasing as more and more functions are aimed to be integrated into a single device. At the same time, there are strong demands for low-cost manufacturing, environmental compatibility, ra ...

This paper presents an ultra-miniaturized, ultra-low-power, capacitor-less CMOS ring oscillator based on dynamic leakage suppression technique. Measurement results demonstrated an oscillation frequency of 21.89 kHz and a power consumption of 7.9 nW for a s ...

This work introduces SENSOTERIC, a multi-partner project that aims at leveraging the properties of emerging Reconfigurable Field Effect Transistors (RFETs) to develop a sensor platform. RFETs will be used for a generic sensor interface and for a dedicated ...
