As previously demonstrated by Thurber and Tycko, the peak position of Br-79 in potassium bromide (KBr) allows one to determine the temperature of a spinning sample. We propose to adapt the original design by using a compact KBr tablet placed at the bottom ...

Single-atom catalysts (SACs) present a promising subclass of classic heterogeneous catalysts by maximizing metal dispersion and enhancing efficiency. Although high-density SACs (HD-SACs) are reported, their synthesis is typically constrained to specific me ...

The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is an extraordinary tool to understand molecular structures. Its main limitation resides in its relatively low sensitivity when compared with other physico-chemical methods such as Mass Spectrometry (MS) or Optical Spec ...

Humic substances (HS) play key role in toxic metal binding and protecting aquatic microorganisms from metal-induced stress. Any environmental changes that could alter HS concentration and reactivity can be expected to modify metal complexation and thus aff ...

Hyperpolarization is generated by dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (d-DNP) using a polymer-based polarizing agent dubbed FLAP (filterable labeled agents for polarization). It consists of a thermo-responsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide), also known a ...

The surface of gamma-alumina nanoparticles can be characterized by dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) surface-enhanced NMR of Al-27. DNP is combined with cross-polarization and MQ-MAS to determine local symmetries of Al-27 sites at the surface. ...

Hyperpolarization by dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) enhances Y-89 spin magnetization by 3 to 4 orders of magnitude and provides a way to monitor yttrium-ligand complexation "on the fly" by means of Y-89 NMR. In this communication, we show a ...

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extending longitudinal relaxation time and transverse relaxation time in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), while removing free radicals from hyperpolarized solution. SOLUTION: A method for preparing samples for ...

In gas phase, collisions that affect the rotational angular momentum lead to the return of the magnetization to its equilibrium (relaxation) in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). To the best of our knowledge, the longitudinal relaxation rates R-1 = 1/T-1 of ...

Vitamin C for longer lifetimes: N-oxide radicals that are widely used for dynamic nuclear polarization can be reduced by scavengers such as sodium ascorbate (vitamin C) during the dissolution process, thus diminishing losses of polarization during the tran ...

A high throughput method was designed to produce hyperpolarized gases by combining lowtemperature dynamic nuclear polarization with a sublimation procedure. It is illustrated by applications to 129Xe nuclear magnetic resonance in xenon gas, leading to a si ...

Although nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) can provide a wealth of information, it often suffers from a lack of sensitivity. Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) provides a way to increase the polarization and hence the signal intensities in NMR spectra by tr ...

Different anchoring groups have been studied with the aim of covalently binding organic linkers to the surface of alumina ceramic foams. The results suggested that a higher degree of functionalisation was achieved with a pyrogallol derivative - as compared ...

The Catalysis Hub - Swiss CAT+, is a new infrastructure project funded by the ETH Domain, co -head-ed by EPFL and ETHZ. It offers the scientific community a unique integrated technology platform combining automated and high-throughput experimentation with ...

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for closing sample tubes. Embodiments of the invention use a 3D-printer head having one or more nozzles for delivering viscous polymer material to create a plug in the opening of the sample tube. ...

To shield solutions carrying hyperpolarized nuclear magnetization from rapid relaxation during transfer through low fields, the transfer duct can be threaded through an array of permanent magnets. The advantages are illustrated for solutions containing hyp ...

This paper presents GLAS (Git-based Lab Automated Scheduler or Get Lab Automation Simplified), an open-source, robust, and highly expandable Git-based architecture designed for laboratory automation. GLAS can be deployed in both partially and fully automat ...

The present invention concerns an automated substance preparation method comprising: - providing a first substance container containing a first substance; - a step of sampling to extract at least one portion of the first substance; - determination of a mas ...
