Terahertz radiation, THz = 1012 Hz, refers to electromagnetic signals with frequencies in the range of 0.3 to 3 THz, and wavelengths between 1 and 0.1 mm. This part of the electromagnetic spectrum is located in between millimeter waves at lower frequencies ...

A saddle coil manufactured by electric discharge machining (EDM) from a solid piece of copper has recently been realized at EPFL for Dynamic Nuclear Polarization enhanced Nuclear Magnetic Resonance experiments (DNP-NMR) at 9.4 T. The corresponding electrom ...

In this paper, a lightweight horn antenna array demonstrator is designed and fabricated by means of an additive manufacturing (AM) process that has been optimized for complicated passive radio-frequency (RF) components. The presented design comprises a com ...

The present invention relates to a probe for multiple irradiation magnetic resonance techniques like, for instance, dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) or ENDOR. The probe comprises an overmoded resonant cavity based on a Photonic Band Gap (PBG) structure f ...

This paper reports a novel methodology to design broadband orthomode transducers with two arbitrarily spaced ports carrying orthogonal linear polarizations. The component is based on a combination of two Boifot junctions through a series of power dividers ...

A waveguide for transmitting signals at terahertz (THz) frequencies, wherein said waveguide comprises at least a matrix and an insert piece having a waveguide channel, wherein said piece is inserted in said matrix. ...

We demonstrate the construction of corrugated waveguides using stacked rings to propagate terahertz frequencies. The waveguide allows propagation of the same fundamental mode as an optical-fiber, namely, the H E11 mode. This simple concept opens the way fo ...

The passive component for the transmission and manipulation of electromagnetic signals having frequencies from 30 GHz to 100 THz, comprises a corrugated or smooth wall unit alone or an assembly of at least one corrugated or smooth wall unit in a hollow gui ...

We demonstrate the construction of corrugated waveguides using stacked rings to propagate terahertz frequencies. The waveguide allows propagation of the same fundamental mode as an optical-fiber, namely, the HE11 mode. This simple concept opens the way for ...

Detection of sub-THz spin cycloid resonances (SCRs) of stoichiometric BiFeO3 (BFO) was demonstrated using a vector network analyzer. Continuous wave absorption spectroscopy is possible, thanks to heterodyning and electronic sweep control using frequency ex ...
