Tremendous efforts have been dedicated toward minimizing the open-circuit voltage deficits on perovskite solar cells (PSCs), and the fill factors are still relatively low. This hinders their further application in large scalable modules. Herein, we employ ...

The hole transporting material (HTM) is an essential component in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) for efficient extraction and collection of the photoinduced charges. Triphenylamine- and carbazole-based derivatives have extensively been explored as alternati ...

Three novel dyes consisting of a 5,8,15-tris(2-ethylhexyl)-8,15-dihydro-SH-benzo[1,2-b:3,4-b':6,5-b '']tricarbazole (BTC) electron-donating group and a 4,7-bis(4-hexylthiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (BTBT) pi-bridge with an anchoring group of phen ...

Long-term durability is critically important for the commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The ionic character of the perovskite and the hydrophilicity of commonly used additives for the hole-transporting layer (HTL), such as lithium bis(trif ...

The role electron-transport layers (ETLs) play in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is still widely debated. Conduction band alignment at the perovskite/ETL interface has been suggested to be an important role for the performance of the solar cells. However, l ...

Aqueous dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are emerging as a promising alternative to enhance both the lifetime and environmental friendliness of traditional DSSCs. Herein, a cobalt-based, jellified (with xanthan gum) aqueous electrolyte, leading to a valu ...

The optoelectronic properties, morphology, and consequently the performance of metal halide perovskite solar cells are directly related to the crystalline phases and intermediates formed during film preparation. The gas quenching method is compatible with ...

Dye-sensitized semiconductor oxide photoelectrodes in which light is absorbed by a monomolecular layer of dye chemisorbed on a porous oxide substrate have attracted considerable interest in the last 35 years, mainly for the conversion of sunlight to electr ...

Many multication perovskites for highly stable and efficient solar cells benefit from rubidium iodide introduced in the precursor solution. It is well-known that Rb+ influences positively the optoelectronic and mobility properties and has a direct effect u ...

Layered hybrid perovskites have emerged as a promising alternative to stabilizing hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite materials, which are predominantly based on Ruddlesden-Popper structures. Formamidinium (FA)-based Dion-Jacobson perovskite analogs are de ...

Redox mediators play a major role determining the photocurrent and the photovoltage in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). To maintain the photocurrent, the reduction of oxidized dye by the redox mediator should be significantly faster than the electron bac ...

The synthesis, characterization, and photovoltaic performance of a series of indacenodithiophene (IDT)-based D--A organic dyes with varying electron-accepting units is presented. By control of the electron affinity, perfectly matching energy levels were ac ...

The identification of an efficient and stable redox mediator is of paramount importance for commercialization of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). Herein, we report a new class of copper complexes containing diamine-dipyridine tetradentate ligands (L1 = N ...

Two spiro-MeTAD compounds (1 and 2) were synthesized, characterized by experimental and quantum mechanical methods, and used as hole transporting materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The new compounds differ from spiro-OMeTAD only by the pres ...

The performance of perovskite solar cells is highly dependent on the fabrication method; thus, controlling the growth mechanism of perovskite crystals is a promising way towards increasing their efficiency and stability. Herein, a multi-cation halide compo ...

Inorganic cesium lead halide perovskite solar cells are promising candidates for next-generation photovoltaic applications. However, their phase instability and relatively low efficiency hinder their commercialization. Herein, hydrophobic organic ammonium ...

Hole-transport materials (HTMs) are key electronic components for the functioning of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) as they extract the photogenerated holes from the perovskite to be transported subsequently to the back electrode while minimizing the loss f ...

Visible-light-absorbing N-TiO2-x/rGO@cellulose nanohybrid photocatalyst with magnetism and self-floatability was fabricated via a facile in-situ nanocomposite strategy. The co-doping levels of nitrogen and oxygen vacancies formed bandgap states highly broa ...

Since reaching 20% efficiency, research in perovskite photovoltaics has shifted from a race for efficiency to a race for stability. For efficiency, the standard test conditions set the rules for the race. However, the term 'stability' is used very broadly ...

We report a material screening study for phase transitions of multication hybrid halide perovskite films. Two hundred sixty-six films processed with flash infrared annealing were optically and structurally characterized. This data was compiled into a datab ...
