Developing a high-performance catalyst and establishing a catalytic mechanism for understanding the catalytic activity are crucial to new generation photovoltaic technology. In this work, we present a feasible and general route to synthesize a bio-based po ...

Organic and inorganic lead halogen perovskites, and in particular, CH3NH3PbI3, have during the last years emerged as a class of highly efficient solar cell materials. Herein we introduce metalorganic halogen perovskite materials for energy-relevant applica ...

Carbon-based electrodes represent a promising approach to improve stability and up-scalability of perovskite photovoltaics. The temperature at which these contacts are processed defines the absorber grain size of the perovskite solar cell: in cells with lo ...

Perovskite solar cells suffer from various instabilities on all time scales. Some of them are driven by light, in particular when employing compounds with mixed halides. Such light soaking effects have been observed to result in performance changes of sola ...

Defect engineering in heterostructured carbon-based electrode materials has evolved as an emerging strategy to boost the electrocatalytic activity. Herein, a facile single-step route is reported to synthesize novel N-coordinated bimetal doped graphitic car ...

The origin of the low densities of electrically active defects in Pb halide perovskite (HaP), a crucial factor for their use in photovoltaics, light emission, and radiation detection, remains a matter of discussion, in part because of the difficulty in det ...

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) convert light into electricity by using photosensitizers adsorbed on the surface of nanocrystalline mesoporous titanium dioxide (TiO2) films along with electrolytes or solid charge-transport materials(1-3). They possess ma ...

The inferior power conversion efficiency (PCE) compared to their regular counterparts (n-i-p) and undesirable stability issues of inverted (p-i-n) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are the foremost issues hindering their commercialization. Here, for the first ...

The dramatic increase in the number of diabetic people raised the requirement for developing practical diagnostic setups capable of rapid and precise detection of glucose molecules at physiological conditions through non-enzymatic approaches. To address th ...

Photoelectrochemical polymerization of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiphene) (PEDOT) has recently been introduced and widely investigated for fabrication of the hole transporting material (HTM) in highly efficient solid state dye sensitized solar cells (sDSCs). ...

Due to the highly complex polyphenolic structure of lignin, depolymerization without a prior chemical treatment is challenging, and new catalysts are required. Atomically dispersed catalysts are able to maximize the atomic efficiency of noble metals, simul ...

Interfacial modification is crucial to fully develop the potential of semiconductor devices, including the revolutionary halide perovskite-based optoelectronics, such as photovoltaics, light-emitting diodes, and photodetectors. The all-inorganic halide per ...

In recent years, one of the most important challenges of the 21st century is to satisfy the ever-increasing world's energy demand. Many efforts are being undertaken to find alternative renewable energy sources, which ideally should outcompete fossil fuel u ...

Considering the natural abundance, the optoelectronic properties, and the electricity production cost, iron pyrite (FeS2) has a strong appeal as a solar cell material. The maximum conversion efficiency of FeS2 solar cells demonstrated to date, however, is ...

Carbon-based electrodes have been widely applied in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) because of their chemical inertness and compatibility with up-scalable techniques, signifying their solid potential for mass-production. The material scarcity and complexity ...

In few years, perovskite solar devices have reached high efficiency on lab scale cells. Upscaling to module size, effective perovskite recipe and posttreatment are of paramount importance to the breakthrough of the technology. Herein this work, the develop ...

Record power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been obtained with the organic hole transporter 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenyl-amine)9,9'-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD). Conventional doping of spiro-OMeTAD with ...

Organic inorganic metal halide perovskites (OIHPs) has emerged as promising photovoltaic materials the latest years. Many OIHPs, however, have complex material compositions with mixed cation and halide compositions, phase mixtures, as well as beneficial re ...

Indolo[3,2-b]carbazole-based hole transporting materials (HTM1-3) are developed for dopant-free pemvskite solar cells (PSCs). The newly synthesized compounds are studied as alternatives of conventional hole-transporting materials which typically require ad ...

The development of facilely synthesized, dopant-free hole-transporting materials (HTMs) with high efficiency is of great significance for the potential application of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, we report two novel indolo[3,2-b]carbazole (ICZ) b ...
