Using a surface integral equation approach based on the tangential Poggio-Miller-Chang-Harrington-Wu-Tsai formulation, we present a full wave analysis of the resonant modes of 3D plasmonic nanostructures. This method, combined with the evaluation of second ...

In this work we report a new class of ultra-thin film devices based on n-n van der Waals (vdW) heteroj unctions of MoS2 and VO2, which show remarkable tunable characteristics. The favorable band alignment combined with the sharp and clean vdW interface det ...

Extraordinary optical transmission through nano-apertures in metallic surfaces: Influence of the aperture shape

Predetermined and selective placement of nanoparticles onto large-area substrates with nanometre-scale precision is essential to harness the unique properties of nanoparticle assemblies, in particular for functional optical and electro-optical nanodevices. ...

We exploit the versatility provided by metal-dielectric composites to demonstrate controllable coherent perfect absorption (CPA) or anti-lasing in a slab of heterogeneous medium. The slab is illuminated by coherent light from both sides, at the same angle ...

We demonstrate the possibility of achieving an optical pulling force without complex beam-shaping techniques. By using optical pulses detuned from the resonant frequency of the structure, we create conditions in which the spectral maxima of the excited cur ...
