Strong gravitational lens systems with time delays between the multiple images allow measurements of time-delay distances, which are primarily sensitive to the Hubble constant that is key to probing dark energy, neutrino physics and the spatial curvature o ...

Euclid will be the first space mission to survey most of the extragalactic sky in the 0.95-2.02 mu m range, to a 5 sigma point-source median depth of 24.4 AB mag. This unique photometric dataset will find wide use beyond Euclid's core science. In this pape ...

We demonstrate the potential of Euclid’s slitless spectroscopy to discover high-redshift (z > 5) quasars and their main photometric contaminant, ultracool dwarfs. Sensitive infrared spectroscopy from space is able to efficiently identify both population ...

Context. The Euclid mission of the European Space Agency will deliver weak gravitational lensing and galaxy clustering surveys that can be used to constrain the standard cosmological model and extensions thereof. Aims. We present forecasts from the combina ...

The technique of photometric redshifts has become essential for the exploitation of multi-band extragalactic surveys. While the requirements on photometric redshifts for the study of galaxy evolution mostly pertain to the precision and to the fraction of o ...

Galaxy proto-clusters are receiving increased interest since most of the processes shaping the structure of clusters of galaxies and their galaxy population happen at the early stages of their formation. The Euclid Survey will provide a unique opportunity ...

Euclid is poised to make significant advances in the study of nearby galaxies in the Local Universe. Here we present a first look at six galaxies observed for the Nearby Galaxy Showcase as part of the Euclid Early Release Observations acquired between Augu ...

We present a tomographic weak lensing analysis of the Kilo Degree Survey Data Release 4 (KiDS-1000), using a new pseudo angular power spectrum estimator (pseudo-C-l) under development for the ESA Euclid mission. Over 21 million galaxies with shape informat ...

We present a weak lensing mass map covering similar to 124 deg(2) of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe 82 Survey (CS82). We study the statistics of rare peaks in the map, including peak abundance, the peak-peak correlation functions and the tangent ...

We present a method for fast evaluation of the covariance matrix for a two-point galaxy correlation function (2PCF) measured with the Landy-Szalay estimator. The standard way of evaluating the covariance matrix consists in running the estimator on a large ...

Modelling uncertainties at small scales, i.e. high k in the power spectrum P (k), due to baryonic feedback, nonlinear structure growth and the fact that galaxies are biased tracers poses a significant obstacle to fully leverage the constraining power of th ...

The current standard model of cosmology successfully describes a variety of measurements, but the nature of its main ingredients, dark matter and dark energy, remains unknown. Euclid is a medium-class mission in the Cosmic Vision 2015–2025 programme of the ...

Euclid is a mission of the European Space Agency that is designed to constrain the properties of dark energy and gravity via weak gravitational lensing and galaxy clustering. It will carry out a wide area imaging and spectroscopy survey (the Euclid Wide Su ...

We present the continuation of our long-term spectroscopic monitoring of the gravitationally lensed quasar QSO 2237 + 0305. We investigate the chromatic variations observed in the UV/optical continuum of both quasar images A and B, and compare them with nu ...

We present deep Hubble Space Telescope NICMOS 2 F160W band observations of the central 56 '' x 57 '' (14 pc x 14.25 pc) region around R136 in the starburst cluster 30Dor (NGC 2070) located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Our aim is to derive the stellar ini ...

To date, galaxy image simulations for weak lensing surveys usually approximate the light profiles of all galaxies as a single or double Sérsic profile, neglecting the influence of galaxy substructures and morphologies deviating from such a simplified param ...

The various Euclid imaging surveys will become a reference for studies of galaxy morphology by delivering imaging over an unprecedented area of 15000 square degrees with high spatial resolution. In order to understand the capabilities of measuring morpholo ...

We investigate the environment and line of sight (LoS) of the H0LiCOW (H-0 Lenses in COSMOGRAIL's Wellspring) lens B1608+656 using Subaru Suprime-Cam and the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) to perform a weak lensing analysis. We compare three different method ...

Galaxies located in the environment or along the line of sight towards gravitational lenses can significantly affect lensing observables, and can lead to systematic errors on the measurement of H-0 from the time-delay technique. We present the results of a ...

We present the Flagship galaxy mock, a simulated catalogue of billions of galaxies designed to support the scientific exploitation of the Euclid mission. Euclid is a medium-class mission of the European Space Agency optimised to determine the properties of ...
