A-site cation mixing can enhance the photovoltaic performance of a wide-bandgap (WBG) perovskite, but rubidium (Rb) cation mixing generally forms a nonperovskite phase. We report that lattice strain locks Rb ions into the α-phase of the lattice of a triple ...

Perovskite-silicon (Si) tandem solar cells are the most prominent contenders to succeed single-junction Si cells that dominate the market today. Yet, to justify the added cost of inserting a perovskite cell on top of Si, these devices should first exhibit ...

Recent advances in low‐cost manufacturing as well as in bulk/interface engineering have positioned zinc ferrite (ZnFe2O4, ZFO) in the spotlight as a candidate material for solar water oxidation. However, the severe recombination at the reactive interface r ...

Metal nanoparticles (NPs) are usually stabilized by a capping agent, a surfactant, or a support material, to maintain their integrity. However, these strategies can impact their intrinsic catalytic activity. Here, we demonstrate that the in-situ formation ...

Herein, a post-synthetic modification strategy is used to covalently graft polyamines, including ethylenediamine (ED), diethylenetriamine (DETA), tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (TAEA), and polyethyleneimine (PEI) to the amino-ligand inside of a Cr-MOF, NH2-Cr-BDC ...

Ni/Al2O3 is an active catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation to both CH4 and CO. By doping with Ga, we succeeded in shifting the selectivity of these catalysts almost completely toward CO. In-situ IR spectroscopy studies showed that the catalyst activity is direc ...

The passivation layer that naturally forms on the lithium metal surface contributes to dendrite formation in lithium metal batteries by affecting lithium nucleation uniformity during charging. Herein, we propose using vacuum thermal evaporation to produce ...

Porous graphene films are attractive as a gas separation membrane given that the selective layer can be just one atom thick, allowing high-flux separation. A favorable aspect of porous graphene is that the pore size, essentially gaps created by lattice def ...

Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have shown an incredible increase in efficiency, reaching as high as 25.7%, which now competes with traditional photovoltaic technologies. Herein, we excluded CsX and RbX (X = I–, Br–, Cl–), the most commonly used cations to ...

Hybrid lead halide perovskites have reached comparable efficiencies to state-of-the-art silicon solar cell technologies. However, a remaining key challenge toward commercialization is the resolution of the perovskite device instability. In this work, we id ...

High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide Bimetallic single-atom catalysts containing two distinct metals within well-defined and spatially controlled environments can offer cooperative reactivity. Here, we present a versatile design strategy for constructing metallophthalocyanine covalent organic frameworks (COFs) containing precisely engineered Pd and Cu sites through mixed-metal ionothermal synthesis, followed by wet impregnation. The corresponding COF, named Pd–Cu@pyPPC–NaCl, is synthesized thr

In this work, we introduce a p-NiO/LiNiO stack grown via low-temperature deposition processes, offering an effective alternative for creating localized p-type regions in GaN devices. This stack combines a high hole concentration p-NiO film ([h] = 2 × 1019 ...

Hybrid lead halide perovskites typically form polycrystalline films that have multiple grain sizes and surface defects. A key engineering challenge toward commercialization is therefore the production of homogeneous, defect-free largearea devices achieving ...

alpha-Synuclein aggregation and accumulation in Lewy bodies are implicated in progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in Parkinson disease and related disorders. In neurons, the Hsp70s and their Hsp40-like J-domain co-chaperones are the only known compone ...

A scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM)-based modification of the method to study the dynamics of single molecule receptor?ligand interactions exploiting the fluorescence imaging by total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy is introduced. T ...

Carbon nanocoatings have emerged as high-performance solutions for the surface protection of engineering materials, especially in systems containing small precision components. For these applications, it is crucial that the nanocoating be continuous and defect-free even at thicknesses on the order of a few nanometers. High-energy vacuum deposition techniques are well-suited for this purpose but expensive and difficult to scale up to large areas or highvolume production. Here, we report a unique solution-bor

DNA biosensors are promising candidates for the development of point-of-care diagnosis methods. They can be inserted in microfluidic platforms, are often non-expensive, and can be produced for a variety of targeted analytes. However, their development face ...

Anion exchange membrane water electrolyzers (AEMWEs) have an intrinsic advantage over acidic proton exchange membrane water electrolyzers through their ability to use inexpensive, stable materials such as stainless steel (SS) to catalyze the sluggish oxyge ...

A series of trifluoromethanesulfonamide solvents were synthesized with systematically controlled ring size (4-6) at the N-terminal to tune their steric and electronic properties to realize enhanced contact ion pairs for the formation of an anion-derived so ...

Silicon solar cells are approaching their theoretical efficiency limit of 29%. This limitation can be exceeded with advanced device architectures, where two or more solar cells are stacked to improve the harvesting of solar energy. In this work, we devise ...
