I describe the sterile neutrino dark matter candidate and discuss how it may fit into the overall picture of physics beyond the Standard Model. ...

In response to the 2013 Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics (EPPSU), the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study was launched as a world-wide international collaboration hosted by CERN. The FCC study covered an energy-frontier hadron collider ...

The anomaly cancellation condition of the Standard Model may be unnatural in theories with extra dimensions as an anomaly of a low-energy 4-dimensional theory can be canceled by an inflow from a bulk. This inflow may give rise to an observable effect at lo ...

Recent analyses of cosmological data suggest the presence of an extra relativistic component beyond the Standard Model content. The Higgs-Dilaton cosmological model predicts the existence of a massless particle - the dilaton - associated with the spontaneo ...

There exist renormalization schemes that explicitly preserve the scale invariance of a theory at the quantum level. Imposing a scale-invariant renormalization breaks renormalizability and induces new nontrivial operators in the theory. In this work, we stu ...

We report on a new topological vortex solution in U(1) x U(1) Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory. The existence of the vortex is envisaged by analytical means, and a numerical solution is obtained by integrating the equations of motion. These vortices have a long ...

We argue that the Higgs boson of the Standard Model can lead to inflation and produce cosmological perturbations in accordance with observations. An essential requirement is the non-minimal coupling of the Higgs scalar field to gravity; no new particle bes ...

We present a toy model of a generic five-dimensional warped geometry in which the 4D graviton is not fully localized on the brane. Studying the tensor sector of metric perturbation around this background, we find that its contribution to the effective gravitational potential is of 4D type (1/r) at the intermediate scales and that at the large scales it becomes 1/r 1+α, 0 < α ≤ 1 being a function of the parameters of the model (α = 1 corresponds to the asymptotically flat geometry). Large-distance behavior o

A number of observed phenomena in high energy physics and cosmology lack their resolution within the Standard Model of particle physics. These puzzles include neutrino oscillations, baryon asymmetry of the Universe, existence of Dark Matter and inflation. ...

In July 2018 an optimization run for the proposed charm cross section measurement for SHiP was performed at the CERN SPS. A heavy, moving target instrumented with nuclear emulsion films followed by a silicon pixel tracker was installed in front of the Goli ...

We propose a strategy for how to look for dark matter particles possessing a radiative decay channel and derive constraints on their parameters from observations of x rays from our own Galaxy and its dwarf satellites. When applied to sterile neutrinos in t ...

The one-loop fermionic contribution to the probability of an instanton transition with fermion number violation is calculated in the chiral Abelian Higgs model in 1+1 dimensions, where the fermions have a Yukawa coupling to the scalar field. The dependence ...

We construct a 2 + 1 dimensional model that sustains superconductivity at all temperatures. This is achieved by introducing a Chern-Simons mixing term between two Abelian gauge fields A and Z. The superfluid is described by a complex scalar charged under Z ...

Reductions from odd to even dimensionalities (5 → 4 or 3 → 2), for which the effective low-energy theory contains chiral fermions, present us with a mismatch between ultraviolet and infrared anomalies. This applies to both local (gauge) and global currents ...

In recent works [1,2], we have shown how n-point correlation functions in perturbative QFT can be computed without running into intermediate divergences. Here we want to illustrate explicitly that one can calculate the quantum effective potential by the sa ...

The author reviews recent studies of sphaleron-induced fermion-number violation at high temperatures and its relevance to the early Universe.

We propose a new class of single-field scalar quantum field theories with non-polynomial interactions leading to a two-point Green's function that can be naturally continued beyond the naive cutoff scale. This provides a new prospect for self-completing th ...
