Eye movements play a very significant role in human computer interaction (HCI) as they are natural and fast, and contain important cues for human cognitive state and visual attention. Over the last two decades, many techniques have been proposed to accurat ...

In vivo quantitative estimation of axon diameter in the white matter could bring new tools to study the structural and functional architecture of the brain. Recently, the feasibility of axon diameter estimation with diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI) has been ...

The problem of generating a virtual view of a scene, i.e. a view from a point where there is not a physical camera to capture the scene, has received recently a lot of attention from the computer vision community. This is probably due to the increase of the computational power of computers, which allows to deal with multiple view systems (systems composed of multiple cameras) efficiently. In this document, an introduction to virtual view generation techniques is presented. In a first part, geometric constra

DSI is a novel high angular resolution diffusion MR imaging technique with high b-values that is able to map complex white matter architecture in the brain. We evaluate the capacity of a simple tractography method to define the essential fiber crossing anatomy. We find a cortico-spinal tract that spreads along the motor strip, callosal fibers that widely distribute throughout the parietal cortex and the arcuate fasciculus. All three fiber types intermix in a complex manner in the centrum semi-ovale.

Conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measures of multiple sclerosis patients provide limited information about the nature and the extent of brain damage and repair. We established a clinically compatible protocol including quantitative MRI techniq ...

Motivation: Synthetic CT (sCT) based on MRI could improve the characterization of bone pathology by estimating bone mineral density and providing a high level of structural details. However, evaluating the performance of sCT is challenging in both respects. Goal(s): To propose an evaluation framework for sCT that quantifies accuracy both in terms of image intensity and depiction of structural details. Approach: We propose the new frequency-based metric SINGHA that captures the sharpness difference between i

Researchers working in the field of global connectivity analysis using diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can count on a wide selection of software packages for processing their data, with methods ranging from the reconstruction of the local intra- ...

In this study, a unified framework to estimate different microstructure indices from diffusion MRI and multi-echo T2 (MET2) data was proposed. The new methodology takes into account the common and complementary information provided by both modalities. While ...

We propose a multimodal joint estimation that aims at exploiting the complementary information of diffusion and multi-echo spin echo data to disentangle the contributions and properties of the main tissue microstructure compartments. We recovered T2, diffu ...

We propose a deep neural network based image-to-image translation for domain adaptation, which aims at finding translations between image domains. Despite recent GAN based methods showing promising results in image-to-image translation, they are prone to f ...

The present invention concerns an array processing image reconstruction method comprising: receiving (13) a set of echo waveforms as measurements from the object of interest; defining (15) a measurement model linking an unknown image of the object to the m ...

Accurate segmentation of lymph nodes in head and neck (H&N) CT images is essential for the radiotherapy planning of the H&N cancer. Atlas-based segmentation methods are widely used for the automated segmentation of such structures. Multi-atlas approaches a ...

Stereo vision is a usual method to obtain depth information from images. The problems encountered when applying well established algorithms to real-time applications are due to the high computational load required. In this article we address this issue by ...

The integration of audio and visual information improves speech recognition performance, specially in the presence of noise. In these circumstances it is necessary to introduce audio and visual weights to control the contribution of each modality to the re ...

Despite the advent of diffusion magnetic resonance imaging and tractography algorithms, the accurate mapping of complex fiber kiss-crossings areas of the brain remains out of reach. In this study, we present a statistical DSI-based tractography algorithm which explores all possible paths in the brain white matter. We also introduce a cortex connectivity graph whose weighted edges correspond to the connection likelihood. The tests performed on the centrum semi-ovale have shown that a simple thresholding appl

We propose an algorithm for very high-resolution satellite image classification that combines non-supervised segmentation with a supervised classification. Both multi-spectral data and local spatial priors are used in the Gaussian Hidden Markov Random Field (GHMRF) model for the segmentation. Then, two classifiers, Mahalanobis distance classifier and SVM, are studied using intensity, texture and shape features. Validation is done qualitatively and quantitatively by comparison with a manual classification us

We present an open-source ITK implementation of a direct Fourier method for tomographic reconstruction, applicable to parallel-beam x-ray images. Direct Fourier reconstruction makes use of the central-slice theorem to build a polar 2D Fourier space from th ...

Very often in change detection only few labels or even none are available. In order to perform change detection in these extreme scenarios, they can be considered as novelty detection problems, semi-supervised (SSND) if some labels are available otherwise ...

In this paper, we introduce the incremental temporally weighted principal component analysis (ITWPCA) algorithm, based on singular value decomposition update, and the incremental temporally weighted visual tracking with spatial penalty (ITWVTSP) algorithm ...
