In standard Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) electron spins are polarized at low temperatures in a strong magnetic field and this polarization is transferred to the nuclear spins by means of a microwave field. To obtain high nuclear polarizations cryogen ...

We present a detailed discussion of the evolution of a statistical ensemble of quantum mechanical systems coupled weakly to a bath. The Hilbert space of the full system is given by the tensor product between the Hilbert spaces associated with the bath and the bathed system. The statistical states of the ensemble are described in terms of density matrices. Supposing the bath to be held at some - not necessarily thermal - statistical equilibrium and tracing over the bath degrees of freedom, we obtain reduced

An infusion pump comprising a substance and pushing fluid inlet, a substance outlet, a central chamber communicating with said inlet and said outlet, and injecting means for injecting a substance into a biological object, wherein the infusion pump further ...

Lithium is widely used in psychotherapy. The Li-6 isotope has a long intrinsic longitudinal relaxation time T-1 on the order of minutes, making it an ideal candidate for hyperpolarization experiments. In the present study we demonstrated that lithium-6 can ...

A dynamic nuclear polarization prepolarizer was developed and coupled to a 9.4 T rodent magnetic resonance imaging scanner in order to perform in vivo hyperpolarization experiments. In the present paper, emphasis is put on methods and hardware performance ...

Hyperpolarization via dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) is a versatile method to dramatically enhance the liquid-state NMR signal of X-nuclei and can be used for performing metabolic and molecular imaging. It was recently demonstrated that ins ...
