A new series of iridium(III) mixed ligand complexes TBA[Ir(ppy)2(CN)2] (1), TBA[Ir(ppy)2(NCS)2] (2), TBA[Ir(ppy)2(NCO)2] (3), and [Ir(ppy)2(acac) (4) (ppy = 2-phenylpyridine; acac = acetoylacetonate, TBA = tetrabutylammonium cation) have been developed and fully characterized by UV-vis, emission, IR, NMR, and cyclic voltammetric studies. The lowest energy MLCT transitions are tuned from 463 to 494 nm by tuning the energy of the HOM

Ultrasmall CsPbI3 perovskite quantum dots (QDs) are the most promising candidates for realizing efficient and stable pure-red perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs)1, 2, 3, 4–5. However, it is challenging for ultrasmall CsPbI3 QDs to retain their soluti ...

Inorganic perovskite solar cells could benefit from surface passivation using 2D/3D perovskite heterostructures. However, conventional spacer cations fail to exchange with the tightly bonded Cs cation in the inorganic perovskite to form 2D layers atop; or, ...

Development of low-cost solution processable inorganic hole-transporting materials (HTM) in n-i-p perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is still a challenge toward stable and cost-effective devices. Here, we report the synthesis, surface functionalization, and app ...

Interface engineering has proven to be an effective approach for passivating interfacial imperfections to mitigate non-radiative recombination, but the subpar interface quality between the perovskite and the charge transport layer has hindered advancements ...

We highlight the effect of the interfacial charge-transfer resistance at the counter electrode in dye-sensitized solar cells based on two cobalt redox shuttles, namely cobalt(III/II) tris(2,2'-bipyridine) and cobalt(III/II) tris(1,10-phenanthroline). Highl ...

Tin-lead (Sn-Pb) mixed perovskite has received widespread attention due to its suitable band gap width and high optical absorption coefficients. However, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of Sn-Pb mixed perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is still low due to ...

Li-TFSI/t-BP is the most widely utilized p-dopant for hole-transporting materials (HTMs) in state-of-the-art perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, its nonuniformity of doping, along with the hygroscopicity and migration of dopants, results in the devices ...

A decade after the report of the first efficient perovskite-based solar cell, development of novel hole-transporting materials (HTMs) is still one of the main topics in this research field. Two of the main advance vectors of this topic lie in obtaining mat ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with high efficiencies have been reported in recent years. Consequently, the main obstacle that hinders their commercialization is their poor thermal stability. Here, we describe the introduction of an A-site cation (2-choloro ...

CsPbI3-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted intense research interest since the inorganic absorber layer has better thermal stability compared with hybrid perovskites. However, CsPbI3 suffers from structural instability due to an easily induc ...

As a leading contender to replace lead halide perovskites, tin-based perovskites have demonstrated ever increasing performance in solar cells and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). They tend to be processed with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvent, which has been ...

In this work, we report the use of bulky substitutions in a new heteroleptic ruthenium(II) bipyridine complex, Ru(NCS)(2)LL', coded TT-230 to obtain high open-circuit potential in a dye-sensitized solar cell (where L is a bipyridine ligand appended with tw ...

Highly photochemically and thermally stable upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) have shown their uses in photovoltaic dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Lanthanide-based UCNPs exhibited tunable absorption in the near-infrared (NIR) range and have a strong ...

A solution processable, molecular organic semiconductor, 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-pentacene), was employed as hole transport material (HTM) in mesoscopic methylammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells. TIPS-pentacene is potenti ...

Mesoscopic solid-state solar cells based on the inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite CH(3)NH(3)Pbl(3) in conjunction with the amorphous organic semiconductor spiro-MeOTAD as a hole transport material (HIM) are investigated using impedance spectroscopy (IS). ...

The effect of electronic and nuclear factors on the dynamics of dye-to-semiconductor electron transfer was studied employing RuII(terpy)(NCS)3 sensitizers grafted onto transparent films made of titanium dioxide nanoparticles. Various approaches were strive ...

Recent advances in GPUs opened a new opportunity in harnessing their computing power for general purpose computing. CUDA, an extension to C programming, is developed for programming NVIDIA GPUs. However, efficiently programming GPUs using CUDA is very tedi ...

Zinc is the most abundant and broadly studied metal oxide semiconductor. Its photophysical properties include optical, electrical, magnetic, catalytic, sensing, energy storage, antibacterial, anti-oxidant, and drug delivery applications have been extensive ...

The present invention provides a porous semiconductor electrode passivated by way of a layer applied by an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process. The semiconductor electrode can be advantageously used in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) having increase op ...
