This study gives a full treatment of the network characterisation of multi-port planar circuits embedded in shielded stratified media with an integrated approach to lumped ports and wave ports. The details of the mathematical formulation for the retrieval ...

The performances of SIW horns antennas diminish significantly when the substrate thickness is much smaller than the free space wavelength lambda(0). Specifically, the mismatch between the antenna aperture and the air yields to unwanted back radiation and p ...

By flaring a dielectric waveguide in the H-plane, an H-plane dielectric horn is formed, which could be directly excited by an SIW feed. However, matching and radiation performances are poor due to the thinness of the substrate. To improve these performance ...

Light or electromagnetic wave scattered by a single sphere or a coated sphere has been considered as a classic Mie theory. There have been some further extensions that were made further based on the Mie theory. Recently, a closed-form analytical model of t ...

lectrical deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an efficient method to treat movement disorders. Many models of DBS, based mostly on finite elements, have recently been proposed to better understand the interaction between the electrical stimulation and the brain tissues. In monopolar DBS, clinically widely used, the implanted pulse generator (IPG) is used as reference electrode (RE). In this paper, the influence of the RE model of monopolar DBS is investigated. For that purpose, a finite element model of the ful

This communication extends a previously reported analytical circuit that models the plane wave scattering by 2-D arrays of planar patches/apertures embedded in a layered media. In this extension, it is assumed that the current/electric field spatial profil ...

This work presents the design and realization procedure of small implantable antenna for biotelemetry applications. The radiator occupies a volume smaller than 3 cm(3) (without its biocompatible insulation), is well matched within the Medical Implanted Com ...

This paper presents an improved subdomain multilevel approach (SMA), a technique efficiently used for solving large complex-shaped antennas printed in multilayered media structure. In a large electromagnetic problem, where the memory occupation and computa ...

The modulated scattering technique is based on the use of reconfigurable electromagnetic scatterers, structures able to scatter and modulate an impinging electromagnetic field in function of a control signal. The modulated scattering technique is used in a ...

We apply the Ewald acceleration technique to the efficient evaluation of periodic Green's functions (GFs) for 3-D skewed lattices like those arising in electromagnetic/photonic band-gap (EBG/PBG) structures and metamaterials (MTMs). We develop the expressi ...

An efficient and accurate method, based on the weighted averages (WA) extrapolation technique, is presented for the evaluation of semi-infinite range integrals involving products of Bessel functions of arbitrary order. The method requires splitting the int ...

We present a space-domain integral-equation method for the analysis of periodic structures formed by three-dimensional metallic objects arranged in a general skewed two-dimensional lattice. The computation of the space-domain Green's function is accelerate ...

We study the characteristics of surface plasmons propagating along graphene sheets, focusing on the effect of spatial dispersion and applied magnetostatic bias, and taking into account the influence of the surrounding media, applied electrostatic biasing f ...

A spectral domain analysis is presented of a plane wave-excited subwavelength circular aperture in a planar perfectly conducting screen in close proximity to a multilayer stack, which may comprise uniaxially anisotropic slices. The formulation employs the ...

A stable and efficient numerical scheme for the evaluation of surface integrals with 1/R-3-type singularities is presented. The method is based on the combination of the direct evaluation method and the singularity subtraction technique. The proposed metho ...

One of the most promising bands for long-range radiocommunications is the Ka-band (25-40 GHz). This is due to the existence of a natural radio transmission window around 30 GHz. Both terrestrial and satellite transmission systems are planned on this freque ...

This paper presents a circularly-polarized dual-band antenna for Ka-band satellite communications which operates simultaneously in both civil and military downlink (17.7-21.2 GHz) and uplink (27.5-31 GHz) bands. The antenna is composed of a metallic ridged ...

A novel topology for the composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH TL) is presented. This type of CRLH TLs has the advantage of exhibiting an all-pass behavior and a frequency-independent characteristic impedance, in the so-called balanced case. ...

A complete and automatized strategy has been developed to derive the Vector and Scalar Potential Green’s Functions (GFs) of planar multilayered structures that include conductive sheets. The propagator matrix technique is enhanced to include conductive she ...
