Monodispersed Pd-nanoparticles (similar to 8nm) prepared via a modified microemulsion method were deposited on active carbon fibers (ACF) fabrics and studied in a semi-batch 1-hexyne liquid-phase hydrogenation. The catalyst Pd(0.45 wt%)/ACF demonstrated > ...

Accelerated bleaching and photobleaching of diluted solutions of Methyl Orange and other dyes occur only when Co2+-ions are present in solution mediating oxone (2KHSO(5)center dot KHSO4 center dot K2SO4) decomposition. The bleaching of Methyl Orange, Orang ...

A novel C-Nafton/Fe-ion structured fabric capable of mediating Orange II decomposition in Fenton-immobilized photoassisted reactions is presented. The catalyst preparation requires the right balance between the amount of the Nafion necessary to protect the C-surface and the minimum encapsulation of the Fe-cluster catalytic sites inside the Nafion to allow the photocatalysis to proceed. The C-Nafion/Fe fabric can be used up to pH 10 under light to photocatalyze the disappearance of Orange II in the presence

FeZSM-5 with a wide range of Fe content (0.015–2.1 wt%) were studied in the benzene hydroxylation to phenol with nitrous oxide (C6H6:N2O = 1:5) at low temperatures (98%) was obtained within 3 h without any deactivation of the catalyst. Three types of Fe(II) sites were formed in the zeolites extraframework due to activation and are attributed to: (1) Fe(

Carbon dioxide methanation was carried out over a series of Ni-CexZr1-xO2 catalysts prepared by a pseudo sol-gel method. The influence of CeO2/ZrO2 mass ratio and noble metal addition was investigated. The catalysts were subsequently characterized by means of XRD,TPR, BET, H-2-TPD and SEM-EDX. The modification of structural and redox properties of these materials was evaluated in relation with their catalytic performances. All catalysts gave impressive CO2 conversion and extremely high selectivity to methan

The catalytic effect of nitrogen incorporation into Mo on hydrogenation (of -NO2 to -NH2 in nitrobenzene to aniline) and hydrogenolysis (of -C?O in benzaldehyde to toluene) processes has been assessed. Bulk Mo was prepared by temperature programmed reducti ...

Innovative structured catalysts based on nanoparticles of gold supported on activated carbon fibers (ACF) in the form of woven fabrics are presented for low-temperature CO oxidation. Gold was deposited by adsorption from aqueous solution of ethylenediamine complex [Au(en)2]Cl3 followed by reduction in hydrogen. The catalysts were studied under transient reaction conditions and characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray energy dispersive analysis (EDS). HRTEM-EDS show

We report herein on the development of Ni-based catalyst using activated carbon fibres (ACFs) as a structured support and its application for the three‐phase hydrogenation of nitroarenes (T = 353 K; P = 10 bar). It was shown that metallic Ni0 nanoparticles ...

Among different polymers nanostructured cross-linked aromatics have the greatest potential as catalytic supports due to their exceptional thermal and chemical stability and preservation of the active phase morphology. This work studies the ability of hyper ...

The dynamics of N2O decompn. to gaseous nitrogen and oxygen over HZSM-5 catalysts with a low iron content (200 and 1000 ppm) was studied by the transient response. Method in the temp. range 523-653 K. The active catalysts were prepd. from HZSM-5 with Fe in the framework on its steaming at 823 K followed by thermal activation in He at 1323 K. Two main steps were distinguished in the dynamics of N2O decompn. The first step represents N2O decompn. forming gaseous nitrogen and surface at. oxygen. The second ste

Small addition of potassium to V/Ti-oxide catalyst (K:V=0.19), consisting of 3.7 monolayer VOx, increased activity and selectivity in partial oxidation of toluene. In order to elucidate the nature of vanadia species formed on the surface of V/Ti-oxide upon potassium doping, the catalysts were studied by transient kinetics method. The transient product responses during toluene oxidation by the oxygen present in the catalyst were compared for K-doped and non-doped samples. The formation of CO2 decreased and f

The activity and selectivity of structure-sensitive reactions are strongly correlated with the shape and size of the nanocrystals present in a catalyst. This correlation can be exploited for rational catalyst design, especially if each type of surface atom displays a different behavior, to attain the highest activity and selectivity. In this work, uniform Pd nanocrystals with cubic (in two different sizes), octahedral, and cuboctahedral shapes were synthesized through a solution-phase method with poly(vinyl

Structured silica woven fabrics have been derivatized with functional groups able to anchor by exchange of Fe3+-ions and TiO2 showing a stable performance during the visible light induced decoloration of the Orange II azo-dye. The kinetics and efficiency of the decoloration mediated by the catalytic loaded silica fabrics with Fe3+-ions were seen to be much higher than found with homogeneous Fenton reagents (Fe3+/H2O2) with the equivalent Fe3+ content. The same was observed for derivatized membranes where Ti

The influence of the acid/base properties of Mg2+-modified alumina on the steady-state and transient behavior of the EtOH to ethene dehydration was investigated by simultaneous gas phase and in-situ surface anal. The steady-state EtOH conversion and the ethene selectivity decreased with increasing catalyst basicity (Mg concn.). The ethene transient behavior is characterized by a stop-effect phenomenon, which is a drastic increase in reaction rate measured for a step-wise decrease in EtOH inlet concn. The re

This paper describes the synthesis of Pd-containing catalysts based on nonfunctionalized hypercrosslinked polystyrene via impregnation with Pd acetate. Developed Pd nanoparticulate catalyst allowed achieving conversion of aryl halide up to 90% in Suzuki cr ...

The flow of two immiscible fluids was investigated in rectangular glass microchannels with equivalent diameters of 269 and 400

. Deionised water, dyed toluene and hexane were selected as probe fluids. Flow patterns were obtained for Y- and T-junction ...

Structured catalyst has been developed for C–C triple bond three-phase hydrogenation. The sintered metal fiber (SMF) coated by different oxides served as support for monodispersed Pd nanoparticles (6.4 ± 0.5 nm). The effect of acid–base properties and reducibility of metal oxide coating on catalytic performance in the liquid phase (T = 303–348 K; P = 1–20 bar) hydrogenation of 2-butyne-1,4-diol to 2-butene-1,4-diol (B2) has been studied. The oxides MgO, ZnO, Ga2O3, Al2O3, ZrO2, SnO2, and SiO2 and the mixtur

Nitrogen-doped and un-doped carbon nanofibers layers, denoted as N-CNFs and CNFs respectively, coating the walls of cordierite monoliths have been used as support for Pd and Ru catalyst. They have been tested in bromate reduction in batch and continuous op ...

This article is a comprehensive overview of gas-liquid and liquid-liquid mass transfer in microstructured reactors (MSR). MSR are known to offer high heat and mass transfer rates for two phase systems due to high surface to volume ratio as compared to conventional reactors. The reactions with fast kinetics controlled by mass transfer have been successfully intensified using MSR. The first part of the review deals with the methods of mass transfer characterization. Further, different dimensionless parameters

The catalytic decomposition of ozone (200-1600 ppm) to molecular oxygen was investigated over activated carbons in the form of woven fibre fabrics (ACF) or granules (ACG) at room temperature. The dynamics of carbon activity was characterised by two distinc ...
