Exciton and cavity mode (CM) dynamics in site-controlled pyramidal quantum dots (QDs), integrated with linear photonic crystal membrane cavities, are investigated for a range of temperatures and photo-excitation power levels. The absence of spurious multi- ...

Site-controlled quantum-wire photonic-crystal microcavity laser is experimentally demonstrated using optical pumping. The single-mode lasing and threshold are established based on the transient laser response, linewidth narrowing, and the details of the no ...

Exciton recombination dynamics in tailored-potential, site-controlled AlGaAs quantum wires (QWRs) are studied. Time-resolved photoluminescence spectra evidence exciton localization in weakly disordered "uniform" QWRs, whereas deterministic bandgap grading ...

1310 nm-band wafer-fused VCSELs demonstrate record low 10 Gbps modulation current of 6 mA at temperatures from RT to 70 °C. Reliability studies demonstrate the suitability of this technology in commercial photonic systems. © 2012 IEEE. ...

We demonstrate the on-chip photon routing on a site-controlled quantum dots embedded W1 photonic crystal waveguides side coupled to a L3 cavity. Observed photon propagation through the device indicates the connectivity of all photonic elements. ...

A tunable Fabry-Perot vertical cavity photonic device and a method of its fabrication are presented. The device comprises top and bottom semiconductor DBR stacks and a tunable air-gap cavity therebetween. The air-gap cavity is formed within a recess in a s ...

Transverse mode discrimination is demonstrated in long-wavelength wafer-fused vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers using ring-shaped air gap patterns at the fused interface between the cavity and the top distributed Bragg reflector. A significant number ...

We investigated the effects of hydrogen irradiation on the degree of linear polarization, rho, of the light emitted by site-controlled, dilute-nitride InGaAsN V-groove quantum wires (QWRs). While in the as-grown sample the polarization of the QWR emission ...
