A spectrometer allowing the measurement of signals with spin-spin relaxation times as short as 0.5 μs has been developed. It consists of a transmitter based on a commercial spectrometer and a homemade receiver. The acquired signals are imported in the soft ...

The Seebeck effect converts thermal gradients into electricity. As an approach to power technologies in the current Internet-of-Things era, on-chip energy harvesting is highly attractive, and to be effective, demands thin film materials with large Seebeck ...

The electrical detection of surface spin polarization in Indium Phosphide (InP) is demonstrated. Using a planar four-terminal architecture on top of semi-insulating Fe: InP (001) wafers, optical orientation is separated from electrical detection. Spin filt ...

A high throughput method was designed to produce hyperpolarized gases by combining lowtemperature dynamic nuclear polarization with a sublimation procedure. It is illustrated by applications to 129Xe nuclear magnetic resonance in xenon gas, leading to a si ...

Coupling of spin waves with electromagnetic cavity field is demonstrated in an antiferromagnet, dysprosium ferrite (DyFeO3). By measuring transmission at 0.2-0.35 THz and sweeping sample temperature, magnon-photon coupling signatures were found at crossing ...

By shining millimeter waves upon a sample, Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) provides a way to enhance Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) signals. Here we report on our efforts to realize a tunable gyrotron at 263.5 GHz and design consideration for coupling a millimeter wave Gaussian beam (GB) to the DNP/NMR probe.

Spin-dependent transport properties of magnetic nanostructures have been investigated by means of magneto-thermogalvanic voltage measurements: the ac voltage response to an ac temperature oscillation is measured for various magnetic nanostructures under dc ...

The recently developed van der Waals magnets provide a promising platform for spintronics and magnonics. Here, we report the observation of surface magnon propagation in the van der Waals antiferromagnet CrSBr. We find a nearly unidirectional propagation of antiferromagnetic magnon modes, which emerge near the anticrossing of the optical and acoustic magnon bands, in agreement with our theory of magnetostatic waves in antiferromagnets. The propagation direction can be reversed by switching the magnetic fiel

Metal-coated polymers shaped by 3D stereolithography are introduced as a new manufacturing method for passive components for millimeter to terahertz electromagnetic waves. This concept offers increased design capabilities and flexibilities while shortening the manufacturing process of complex shapes, e. g., corrugated horns, mirrors, etc. Tests at 92.5, 140, and 170 GHz are reported. Assemblies of ferromagnetic cylinders made of Ni with diameters ranging from 35 to 250 nm were produced by electrodeposition in nanoporous membranes. The large coercive fields of Ni nanowires at low temperature could be accounted for by the curling mode of magnetization reversal, taking into account the distributions of win diameters and orientations. The coercive field of the nanowires of the smaller diameter range decreased from 1500 Oe at 20 K to 200 Oe at 300 K nearly linearly. (C) 1996 American Institu

The magnetoresistance (MR) of magnetic multilayers formed by electrodeposition of Co and Cu in the parallel pores of nanoporous polycarbonate membranes was measured in the current-perpendicular-to-plane (CPP-MR) geometry, with Co acid Cu thicknesses in the range 2-50 nm. Ratios reaching 20% at ambient temperature and 30% at 20 K were obtained. A systematic study of the magnetoresistance as a function of the Co and Cu thicknesses was interpreted in terms of a two-current model. The volume and interface resis

An increase in Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) signal intensity is obtained with a tunable gyrotronproducing frequency modulation around 260 GHz at power levels less than 1W. The sweep rate of frequency modulation can reach 14 kHz, and its amplitude is ...

Method for the preparation of a sample comprising highly polarized nuclear spins, comprising at least the following steps: a) bringing a polarization system, which using an electrochemical reaction can be converted into an EPR-active radical form thereof, ...

Magneto-spectroscopy methods have been employed to study the zero-wavevector magnon excitations in MnPSe3. Experiments carried out as a function of temperature and the applied magnetic field show that two low-energy magnon branches of MnPSe3 in its antifer ...

Electrodeposition of magnetic multilayers was achieved in the cylindrical pores of a nuclear track-etched polycarbonate membrane. An assembly of wires with an average diameter of 80 nm and a length of 6 μm was obtained. Multilayers in these wires were grown by pulsed deposition of (Co, Ni) and Cu. The high aspect ratio of the sample allowed us to measure the magnetoresistance with the current perpendicular to the planes. Magnetoresistance ratios higher than 20% at ambient temperature are reported. © 1995.

The Nd-Mn exchange interaction in Nd0.7Sr0.3MnO3 is considered by studying its influence on the Mn-55 spin-echo NMR lineshape and spin- spin relaxation time. It is seen that the interaction is of considerable strength well above the Nd spin ordering temper ...

Excitation and control of antiferromagnetic magnon modes lie at the heart of coherent antiferromagnetic spintronics. Here, we propose a topological surface magnon-polariton as a new approach in the prototypical magnonic material hematite. We show that in an insulating canted antiferromagnet, where strong-coupled magnon-photon modes can be achieved using on-chip microwave layouts, a surface magnon-polariton mode exists in the gap of the bulk magnon-photon bands. The emergence of surface magnon-polariton mode

Temperature dependence of the antiferromagnetic resonance spectrum in a thulium orthoferrite (TmFeO3) poly-crystalline sample was studied by transmission spectroscopy in the frequency range of 0.1–0.75 THz and temperature range of 300–670 K, up to its Néel ...

Recently developed van der Waals magnets offer a promising platform for advancing spintronics. The weak interlayer antiferromagnetic exchange coupling in van der Waals antiferromagnets allows for unique spin dynamics and control over magnons. In this study ...

Anomalous Hall and anomalous Nernst properties of thin MgO/Co-2Fe0.4Mn0.6Si/Pd stacks with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) revealed the presence of the magnetic proximity effect (MPE) in the Pd layer. The MPE is evidenced by nanometer range thickne ...
