In certain laminators for poly (ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA) encapsulation process of photovoltaic modules, cooling press (CP) is applied to the module after encapsulation. Here, the effect of CP on the optical transmission through common PV encapsulan ...

We clarify the difference between the SiH4 consumption efficiency eta and the SiH4 depletion fraction D, as measured in the pumping line and the actual reactor of an industrial plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition system. In the absence of significant ...

Parasitic absorption in the transparent conductive oxide (TCO) front electrode is one of the limitations of silicon heterojunction (SHJ) solar cells efficiency. To avoid such absorption while retaining high conductivity, TCOs with high electron mobility ar ...

Changes in the nanostructure of methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI(3)) perovskite solar cells are assessed as a function of current-voltage stimulus by biasing thin samples in situ in a transmission electron microscope. Various degradation pathways are iden ...

Efficient monolithic perovskite/perovskite tandem solar cells are fabricated using two perovskite absorbers with complementary bandgaps. By employing doped organic semiconductors, an efficient and selective extraction of the charge carriers is ensured. Thi ...

Lightweight crystalline silicon (c-Si) PV modules with a weight of 5kg/m(2), by substituting the typical front glass with a thin polymer sheet and the standard back sheet by a composite sandwich structure are presented here. With this work, we propose the ...

In this presentation we will address topics such as the comparative stability of films fabricated by spin-coating and drop-casting, the effect of selective contact layers on aging behavior, and the role of the halide fraction.

Hybrid structures are formed from materials of different families. Traditionally, group IV and III-V semiconductors have not been integrated together in the same device or application. In this work we present a new approach for obtaining Si-GaAs hybrid het ...

We investigate the transfer of random nanostructures commonly used in thin film silicon solar cells onto inexpensive substrates, such as glass or flexible polyethylene sheets. Morphological and optical analyses of masters and replicas show the successful t ...

High aspect-ratio three-dimensional (3D) a-Si:H solar cells have been fabricated to enhance a light absorption path while maintaining a short carrier collection length. Substantial efficiency enhancement in 3D solar cells was achieved due to the boost in J ...

Due to reduced rear-side ventilation, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) are prone to higher operating temperatures, which may impact their long-term performance and reliability. However, often overlooked in the study of thermomechanical stress in PV ...

Inserting a dielectric between the absorber and rear metal electrode of a solar cell increases rear internal reflectance by both limiting the transmission cone and suppressing the plasmonic absorption of light arriving outside of the cone. We fabricate rea ...
