Jamus LimJamus Jerome Lim Chee Wui (; born 1976) is a Singaporean politician, economist and associate professor. A member of the opposition Workers' Party (WP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Anchorvale division of Sengkang GRC since 2020. Lim attended Catholic High School, Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College as part of his early education in Singapore. His first job involved him working at Burger King. He was a service medic in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) during his National Service (NS).
Vicente LimVicente Lim y Podico (February 24, 1888 – December 31, 1944) was a Filipino brigadier general and World War II hero. Lim was the first Filipino graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point (Class of 1914). Prior to the establishment of the Philippine Army, he served as an officer in the Philippine Scouts (a now-defunct native Filipino unit of the US Army). During the Battle of Bataan, Lim was the Commanding General of the 41st Infantry Division, Philippine Army (USAFFE).
Lim ShengyuLim Shengyu (born 7 December 1990) is a Singaporean professional basketball player who plays forward, most recently for the Singapore Slingers in the Asean Basketball League (ABL). After winning the Most Valuable Player Award in both his two years playing for Hwa Chong Institution, Shengyu was selected as one of three Singaporean players to attend the prestigious Adidas Nations basketball camp in Shanghai and the only player to represent Singapore to participate in the NBA Without Borders Camp in New Delhi in 2008.
Robert LimRobert Kho-Seng Lim (; 15 October 1897 – 8 July 1969), also known as Bobby Li, was a Singaporean medical doctor. Lim was born in Singapore in 1897. He was the son of Lim Boon Keng, who promoted social and educational reforms in Singapore and China. The family moved to Edinburgh in Scotland when he was eight. He attended George Watson's College. During the World War I, he volunteered for and served in the Indian army medical service.
Lim Chin SiongLim Chin Siong (; 28 February 1933 – 5 February 1996) was a Singaporean politician and union leader active in Singapore in the 1950s and 1960s. He was one of the founders of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), which has governed the country continuously since independence. Lim also used his popularity to galvanise many trade unions in support of the PAP. Lim was the youngest Assemblyman in Singapore to be elected. However, Lim's political career was cut short by two detentions without trial after being labelled a communist.
Lim Yew HockLim Yew Hock (; 15 October 1914 – 30 November 1984) was a Singaporean-born Malaysian politician and diplomat who served as Chief Minister of Singapore between 1956 and 1959. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cairnhill between 1959 and 1963 and previously a Member of the Legislative Council and later Legislative Assembly between 1948 and 1963. He was the 2nd de facto Leader of the Opposition between 1959 and 1963. He and his family elected to take up Malaysian citizenship after Singapore's independence from Malaysia.
Three-body problemIn physics and classical mechanics, the three-body problem is the problem of taking the initial positions and velocities (or momenta) of three point masses and solving for their subsequent motion according to Newton's laws of motion and Newton's law of universal gravitation. The three-body problem is a special case of the n-body problem. Unlike two-body problems, no general closed-form solution exists, as the resulting dynamical system is chaotic for most initial conditions, and numerical methods are generally required.
Lunar theoryLunar theory attempts to account for the motions of the Moon. There are many small variations (or perturbations) in the Moon's motion, and many attempts have been made to account for them. After centuries of being problematic, lunar motion can now be modeled to a very high degree of accuracy (see section Modern developments).
