Mapping Catalyst‐Solvent Interplay in Competing Carboamination/Cyclopropanation Reactions

Nicolai Cramer, Anne-Clémence Corminboeuf, Matthew Wodrich, Simone Gallarati, Lukasz Piotr Wozniak, Miyeon Chang

Group 9 metals, in particular Rh III complexes with cyclopentadienyl ligands, are competent C–H activation catalysts. Recently, a Cp*Rh III catalyzed reaction of alkenes with N -enoxyphthalimides showed divergent outcome based on the solvent, with carboami ...

Synthesis of Chiral Cyclopentadienyl Complexes and Applications Towards C-H Functionalization

Benoît Daniel Bertrand Audic

Metal-catalysed C-H bond functionalization has received tremendous attention and developed rapidly over the past decades. Cyclopentadienyl (Cp) metal complexes and their asymmetric counterparts (CpX) are part of a central organometallic category empowering ...

A β-Carbon elimination strategy for convenient in situ access to cyclopentadienyl metal complexes

Nicolai Cramer, Anne-Clémence Corminboeuf, Matthew Wodrich, Benoît Daniel Bertrand Audic, Gints Smits

The electronic and steric properties of tailored cyclopentadienyl (Cp) ligands are powerful handles to modulate the catalytic properties of their metal complexes. This requires the individual preparation, purification and storage of each ligand/metal combi ...

Chiral Cyclopentadienyl Iridium(III) Complexes Promote Enantioselective Cycloisomerizations Giving Fused Cyclopropanes

Nicolai Cramer, Yun-Suk Jang, Michael Christian Dieckmann

The cyclopentadienyl (Cp) group is a very important ligand for many transition-metal complexes which have been applied in catalysis. The availability of chiral cyclopentadienyl ligands (Cp-x) lags behind other ligand classes, thus hampering the investigati ...

Organometallic rhodium(III) and iridium(III) cyclopentadienyl complexes with curcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin co-ligands

Paul Joseph Dyson, Rosario Scopelliti, Tina Riedel, Agnese Petrini

A series of half-sandwich cyclopentadienyl rhodium(III) and iridium(III) complexes of the type [CpM(curc/bdcurc) Cl] and [CpM(curc/bdcurc)(PTA)][SO3CF3], in which Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl, curcH = curcumin and bdcurcH = bisdemethoxycurcumin as O ...

Ligand-Controlled Regiodivergent Pathways of Rhodium(III)-Catalyzed Dihydroisoquinolone Synthesis: Experimental and Computational Studies of Different Cyclopentadienyl Ligands

Nicolai Cramer, Anne-Clémence Corminboeuf, Matthew Wodrich, Jérôme Florian Gonthier, Baihua Ye

Rh-III-catalyzed directed C-H functionalizations of arylhydroxamates have become a valuable synthetic tool. To date, the regioselectivity of the insertion of the unsaturated acceptor into the common cyclometalated intermediate was dependent solely on intri ...

Reactions of Alkynes with [RuCl(cyclopentadienyl)] Complexes: The Important First Steps

Rosario Scopelliti, Ursula Röthlisberger, Kay Severin, Euro Solari, Basile Curchod, Pablo Campomanes Ramos, Barnali Dutta

Cyclopentadienyl-ruthenium half-sandwich complexes with 2-bound alkyne ligands have been suggested as catalytic intermediates in the early stages of Ru-catalyzed reactions with alkynes. We show that electronically unsaturated complexes of the formula [RuCl ...

Importance of the p-Ligand: Remarkable Effect of the Cyclopentadienyl Ring on the Cytotoxicity of Ruthenium PTA Compounds

Paul Joseph Dyson, Rosario Scopelliti, Kay Severin, Claudine Scolaro, Barnali Dutta

The water-sol. complexes [(Cp'OR)RuCl(PTA)2] (Cp'OR = h5-1-alkoxy-2,4-di-tert-butyl-3-neopentylcyclopentadienyl; R = Me, Et; PTA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane) are considerably more cytotoxic (.apprx.2 orders of magnitude) than the cyclopentadienyl an ...

Ruthenium Catalysts for the Kharasch Reaction

Kay Severin

Recent advances in the development of ruthenium catalysts for the atom transfer radical addn. of polyhalogenated compds. to olefins ('Kharasch reaction') are described. Three classes of homogeneous catalysts are discussed: halfsandwich complexes with h6-ar ...
