Melt electrowriting (MEW) is a distinct class of additive manufacturing technologies that generates fibrous and porous macrostructures with microscale resolution from an electrically charged molten polymer. The high-resolution scaffolds produced by MEW have been primarily used for tissue engineering, cancer research, biofabrication and biomaterials. Unfortunately, the commercial MEW device’s prohibitive affordability and lack of standardization of custom devices, represent obstacles to further research. Bui

Within the framework of the EuroFusion WPMAG project, an automatic laser-welding line was constructed to produce a 1 km long, empty stainless steel jacket demonstrator for the React & Wind (RW) conductor for EU-DEMO. Four 500 m long C-profiles made of 316L austenitic stainless steel were fabricated from ~8 m long sections using the manual TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding method. A series of experimental investigations was carried out on the welded samples, including ferrite content measurements, microhardne

Spectrum and correlated colour temperature of light are shown to influence human visual comfort. Previous research conducted with electric light, mainly in the context of vehicular headlamps, have demonstrated that coloured LEDs induce more discomfort glare than white LED and among the coloured LEDs blue ones gave the highest glare perception[1]–[3]. However, there are currently no studies that determine the influence of filtered daylight on discomfort glare in context of daylit indoor spaces which can prov

Ion cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH) in the hydrogen minority scheme provides central ion heating and acts favorably on the core tungsten transport. Full wave modeling shows that, at medium power level (4MW), after collisional redistribution, the ratio o ...

The ASDEX Upgrade (AUG) programme is directed towards physics input to critical elements of the ITER design and the preparation of ITER operation, as well as addressing physics issues for a future DEMO design. Since 2015, AUG is equipped with a new pair of ...
