Christophe MoserChristophe Moser is Associate Professor of Optics and the Section Director in the Microengineering department at EPFL. He obtained his PhD at the California Institute of Technology in optical information processing in 2000. He co-founded and was the CEO of Ondax Inc (acquired by Coherent Inc.), Monrovia California for 10 years before joining EPFL in 2010. His current interests are ultra-compact endoscopic optical imaging through multimode fibers, multimode fiber lasers, retinal imaging and additive manufacturing via volumetric 3D printing with light. He is the co-founder of Composyt light lab in the field of head worn displays in 2014 (acquired by Intel Corp), Earlysight SA and Readily3D. He is the author and co-author of 75 peer reviewed publications and 45 patents.
Zheru QiuBefore joining LPQM, I graduated from University of Science and Technology of China with a bachelor's degree. In USTC, I actively worked in Prof. Zheng-tian Lu's research group and I mainly participated in the atomic magnetometer project led by Prof. Dong Sheng.
Mohamed BouriDr. Mohamed Bouri is a group leader of Rehabilitation and Assistive Robotics in LSRO and lecturer of Robotics and Industrial Robotics. He graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1992 and obtained his PhD degree in 1997 in Industrial Automation at INSA LYON, France. Since 1997, he is at EPFL and is mainly active in the field of robot control, automation and robot design for medical and industrial applications. He is the head of Rehabilitation and Assistive Robotics group since 2005 and has strong references with the development of robotic devices for lower limb rehabilitation : The MotionMaker and WalkTrainer commercialzed by the company Swortec. His ongoing research currently focuses on the development of exoskeletons and the associated control strategies. His main current projects are TWIICE, a lower limb exoskeleton for people with paraplegia, AUTONOMYO, a walk assistance exoskeleton for people with muscle weakness, and the HiBSO, a hip orthosis for elderly.
Marta DivallDr Marta Divall is Laboratory Manager at EPFL in the group of Prof. Tobias Kippenberg at the Laboratory of Photonics and Quantum Measurements. She has obtained her masters degree in mathematics and physics from the University of Szeged. She carried out her PhD work in Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK (Dr. Ian Ross) and at University of Szeged (Dr. Karoly Osvay) working on the development of high power ultrashort pulse laser systems in the UV regime. She has utilized her knowledge to develop photo-injector lasers for electron production at Daresbury Laboratory in the UK, CERN, where her main research is focused on generating unique burst mode pulse-structures for electron beam combination at 12GHz and Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, where she was in charge of developing femtosecond resolution timing tools and the active stabilization for the laser systems used in SwissFEL complex.
Nicolas GrandjeanNicolas Grandjean received a PhD degree in physics from the University ofNice Sophia Antipolis in 1994 and shortly thereafter joined the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) as a permanent staff member. In 2004, he was appointed tenure-track assistant professor at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) where he created the Laboratory for advanced semiconductors for photonics and electronics. He was promoted to full professor in 2009. He was the director of the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics from 2012 to 2016 and then moved to the University of California at Santa Barbara where he spent 6 months as a visiting professor. Since 2018, he is the head of the School of Physics at the EPFL. He was awarded the Sandoz Family Foundation Grant for Academic Promotion, received the “Nakamura Lecturer” Award in 2010, the "Quantum Devices Award” at the 2017 Compound Semiconductor Week, and “2016 best teacher” award from the EPFL Physics School. His research interests are focused on the physics of nanostructures and III-V nitride semiconductor quantum photonics.
Olivier MartinOlivier J.F.
