1978 Birthday Honours

The Queen's Birthday Honours 1978 were appointments by many of the Commonwealth realms of Queen Elizabeth II to various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works by citizens of those countries. The appointments were made to celebrate the official birthday of The Queen. The announcement date varies, both from year to year and from country to country. The 1978 Queen's Birthday Honours were announced on 3 June for the United Kingdom and Life Peers, Australia, New Zealand, Mauritius, Fiji, The Bahamas, Grenada, and Papua New Guinea. The recipients of honours are displayed here as they were styled before their new honour, and arranged by honour, with classes (Knight, Knight Grand Cross, etc.) and then divisions (Military, Civil, etc.) as appropriate.
