We study quantifiers and interpolation properties in ortho- logic, a non-distributive weakening of classical logic that is sound for formula validity with respect to classical logic, yet has a quadratic-time decision procedure. We present a sequent-based p ...

This article explores how the logic underlying modal practices tends to modulate the population’s responsiveness to improvements in global transport supply. Based on a quantitative survey conducted in 2018–2019 among the working population of the cantons o ...

The analysis of multiple data streams is a long-standing practice within educational research. Both multimodal data analysis and temporal analysis have been applied successfully, but in the area of collaborative learning, very few studies have investigated ...

We study a framework for the specification of architecture styles as families of architectures involving a common set of types of components and coordination mechanisms. The framework combines two logics: 1) interaction logics for the specification of arch ...

For more than four decades, Complementary Metal-Oxide- Semiconductor (CMOS) Field Effect Transistors (FETs) have been the baseline technology for implementing digital computation systems. CMOS transistors natively implement Not-AND ...

In this paper, we propose an abstract interpretation-based framework for reducing the state space of stochastic semantics for protein protein interaction networks. Our approach consists in quotienting the state space of networks. Yet interestingly, we do n ...

Despite many advantages of Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), they fail to take over the IC design market from Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) for high-volume and even medium-volume applications, as FPGAs come with significant cost in ...

This research study addresses issues of transport modeling aiming to the recognition of vehicles, with perspective to generate a knowledge base for an automatic recognition of vehicles from similar type of data. Based on two datasets consisted of multi-spe ...

Boolean Algebra with Presburger Arithmetic (BAPA) is a decidable logic that can express constraints on sets of elements and their cardinalities. Problems from verification of complex properties of software often contain fragments that belong to quantifier- ...

In this paper, we propose a new category of current-mode Łukasiewicz OR and AND logic neurons and ensuing logic networks along with their ultra-low power realization. The introduced circuits can operate in a wide range of the input signals varying in-betwe ...

Techniques such as verification condition generation, predicate abstraction, and expressive type systems reduce software verification to proving formulas in expressive logics. Programs and their specifications often make use of data structures such as sets ...

Virtual marketplaces on the Web provide people with great facilities to buy and sell goods similar to conventional markets. In traditional business, reputation is subjectively built for known persons and companies as the deals are made in the course of tim ...

The objective of the work presented here is to develop a low cost active above knee prosthetic device exploiting bipedal robotics technology which will work utilizing the available biological motor control circuit properly integrated with a Central Pattern ...

Among the driving processes responsible for riparian forest dynamics the species-specific impact of flooding on the development of woody plants plays a key role-particularly for lowland rivers. Only a few of the forest succession models currently in use in ...

Trajectory data is of crucial importance for a vast range of applications involving analysis of moving objects behavior. Unfortunately, the extraction of relevant knowledge from trajectory data is hindered by the lack of semantics and the presence of error ...

This article is about a breadth-first exploration of logical concepts in cryptography and their linguistic abstraction and model-theoretic combination in a comprehensive logical system, called CPL (for Cryptographic Protocol Logic). We focus on two fundame ...

Maintaining and developing competitive advantages in a constantly changing market require the creation and exploitation of a network of adequate competences. Competence management necessitates both clean formalization and evaluation of the pertinence of co ...
