Anirudh Raju NatarajanAnirudh received a B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, a M.S in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Ph.D. in Materials from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He set up the laboratory of materials design and simulation (MADES) at EPFL in 2022. His research interests are in the computational design and discovery of advanced engineering materials.
Mirjana StojilovicMirjana Stojilović received the Dipl. Ing. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, in 2006 and 2013, respectively. From 2010 to 2013, she was collaborating with the Processor Architecture Laboratory at EPFL, visiting periodically as a Guest Researcher. From 2013 to 2016, she was working at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland as a senior researcher, and at EPFL as a lecturer. She joined Parallel Systems Architecture Lab at EPFL in October 2016. Mirjana's main research interests include electronic design automation, reconfigurable computing, electromagnetic-compatibility and signal-integrity issues, and hardware security. Mirjana Stojilović serves on the program committee of the FPGA, FPL, and FCCM conferences and as a reviewer for IEEE TCAD, TVLSI, TC, TEMC, IEEE Access and ACM TRETS. She received the Best Paper Award at 2016 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC Europe 2016), Young Scientist Award at 33rd International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP2016), and the Young Author Best Paper Award at the 20th Telecommunication Forum in Belgrade (TELFOR 2012). In 2015, the EPFL School of Computer and Communication Sciences (IC) presented her with the Teaching Award.

Mirko KovacProf. Mirko Kovač is Director of the Laboratory of Sustainability Robotics, jointly appointed at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa) in Zürich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). He holds an Honorary Professorship at Imperial College London, where he previously served as Full Professor and founded the Aerial Robotics Laboratory.His research group develops mobile robotic systems for distributed environmental sensing and autonomous manufacturin
Maria BrbicMaria Brbic is an assistant professor in computer science at EPFL. Prior to joining EPFL, Maria was a postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science at Stanford University working with Jure Leskovec. She received her PhD degree from University of Zagreb in 2019, while also researching at Stanford University and University of Tokyo. Her research was awarded with the Fulbright Scholarship, L’Oreal UNESCO for Women in Science Scholarship, Branimir Jernej award for outstanding publication in biology and biomedicine, and Josip Loncar Silver Plaque award for the best doctoral dissertation. She has been named a Rising Star in EECS by MIT in 2021. Her research is focused on developing new machine learning methods and applying her methods to advance biomedical research.
Patrick ThiranPatrick Thiran is a full professor in network and systems theory at the School of Computer and Communication Sciences at EPFL. He holds an electrical engineering degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, an M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, USA, and he received the PhD degree from EPFL, in 1996. He became an adjunct professor in 1998, an assistant professor in 2002, an associate professor in 2006 and a full professor in 2011. He was with Sprint Advanced Technology Labs in Burlingame, California, in 2000-01.
His research interests are in communication and social networks, performance analysis and stochastic models. He is currently active in the analysis and design of wireless and PLC networks (scaling laws, medium access control), in network monitoring (network tomography, multi-layer networks), and data-driven network science. He also contributed to network calculus and to the theory of locally coupled neural networks and self-organizing maps.
He served as an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems in 1997-99 and for the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking in 2006-10. He is currently on the editorial board of the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communication. He is/was on the program committee of different conferences in networking, including ACM Sigcomm, Sigmetrics, IMC, CoNext and IEEE Infocom. He was TPC chair of AMC IMC 2011 and CoNext 2012. He is a Fellow of the Belgian American Educational Foundation and of the IEEE. He received the 1996 EPFL Doctoral Prize and the 2008 Crédit Suisse Teaching Award.

Jiawen LiuJiawen obtained his bachelor's degree in 2015 from the Beijing Institute of Technology, China, majoring in electrical and electronic engineering. He then pursued a Master's degree in 2017 at the University of Lyon, France, where he discovered his passion for optics and photonics. Following that, he completed his PhD degree at Sorbonne University in 2020, Paris, focusing on the photo-physical properties of nanoscale single-photo emitters, as well as assembled nanostructures. Robert WestRobert West is a tenure-track assistant professor of computer science at EPFL, where he heads the Data Science Lab. In his research, he develops and applies techniques in machine learning, computational social science, natural language processing, social network analysis, and data mining. Bob also collaborates closely with the Wikimedia Foundation, in his role as a Wikimedia Research Fellow. Bob’s work has won several awards, including best/outstanding paper awards at ICWSM’21, ICWSM’19, and WWW’13, a best-paper runner-up award at WWW’16, a Google Faculty Research Award, a Facebook Research Award, a Hewlett-Packard Graduate Fellowship, and a Facebook Graduate Fellowship. He is actively involved in the research community, e.g., as an Associate Editor of ICWSM and EPJ Data Science and as a co-founder of the Wiki Workshop (held at WWW and ICWSM) and the Applied Machine Learning Days. Iegor VlasenkoIegor (Yegor) Vlasenko (he/him) is a researcher in urban studies and planning with a Master of Science degree in Urban Studies from Malmo University (2017). Since April 2023, he is a Doctoral Assistant and PhD student in Architecture and City Sciences at the Laboratory of Urbanism, EPFL, working on the dissertation entitled «Decentralisation as an Agent of Resilience? Sangwoo KimSangwoo Kim is set to join EPFL as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in September 2023. Prior to his appointment at EPFL, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He earned his graduate degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his research delved into the relationships between statistics, geometry, and mechanical states in cellular matters. Currently, his research focus on fundamental understanding of biological and living systems, as well as the study of soft and active matter employing principles from mechanics and physics. His research interests encompass embryonic development, tissue morphogenesis, structure and mechanics of soft materials, inherent structure of amorphous materials, and non-equilibrium dynamics of active matter.

Nino has been addressing environmental challenges since 2010, starting with the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy and later working with the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources.He earned degrees in political science and international relations from the University of Bremen.
Valentin Daniel Maurice BourdonValentin Bourdon est architecte Dr EPFL, chercheur postdoctorant et assistant d'enseignement. Il obtient son diplôme d'architecture en juillet 2013 à l’École d’Architecture de la Ville et des Territoires Paris-Est à Marne-la-Vallée sous la direction de Jacques Lucan, et son doctorat en septembre 2020 à l’EPFL sous la direction de Luca Ortelli. Depuis septembre 2021, il est coordinateur exécutif du Habitat Research Center et coordinateur du programme MAS ETH EPFL UTD. Engagé dans les recherches du Laboratoire de Construction et Conservation entre janvier 2017 et septembre 2021, il participe aussi à l'encadrement de l'atelier Housing - Théorie et critique du projet, en troisième année d'architecture. En 2019 il bénéficie d'un séjour académique de six mois au sein du Metrolab Bruxelles grâce au soutien du FNS, et multiplie pendant sa recherche les publications scientifiques et à destination du grand public. Son arrivée en Suisse et son retour dans le monde académique interviennent après une expérience professionnelle approfondie au sein de l’agence parisienne MGAU Michel Guthmann Architecture Urbanisme. De 2010 à 2016, il participe à la majorité des projets développés par l'agence et assure le suivi de plusieurs d'entre eux, aussi bien des logements collectifs que des projets urbains. Il est architecte habilité à exercer la maîtrise d’œuvre en son nom propre depuis janvier 2015.
