SCI SB DM Group

The Materials Physics Group at EPFL focuses on studying the mechanical behavior of materials through mechanical spectroscopy and complementary techniques. With a skilled technical staff, they develop instruments and investigate the physical basis of materials' mechanical properties. Their research spans from dislocation dynamics in solids to nanoscale mechanical properties and the development of high damping metallic materials. They are also involved in teaching physics courses and offer services for measuring materials properties and developing scientific equipment.
