The Laboratory of Atmospheric Processes and their Impacts (LAPI) at EPFL focuses on studying atmospheric processes and their effects on climate, health, and ecosystems. Their research program centers on atmospheric particulate matter (aerosols) and integrates observations, theory, and modeling to understand the impacts on clouds, climate, air quality, and biogeochemical cycles. LAPI is actively involved in developing aerosol instrumentation, measurement techniques, and open-source modules used in air quality and climate models. They conduct field measurement programs to assess the climate and health impacts of ambient aerosols. Additionally, LAPI collaborates with various research groups globally and is closely affiliated with the Center of Studies on Air Quality and Climate Change in Greece and the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the US.
