The Galland Group at EPFL focuses on vibrational quantum dynamics, studying quantum decoherence at the nano- and mesoscale, molecular photophysics, and emerging quantum technologies. Their research areas include Plasmonic nanocavities, molecular optomechanics, light-vibration quantum correlations, and quantum and nanoscale sensors. They have successfully demonstrated growth of living neurons on nanostructured diamond surfaces, generated collective vibrational quantum coherence in spontaneous Raman scattering, and explored quantum correlations between light and molecular vibrations. The group aims to contribute to the future of sensing platforms by developing highly sensitive magnetometers based on Nitrogen-Vacancy center spins in diamond.
