Ethynylbenziodoxolones (EBXs) are commonly used as radical traps in photocatalytic alkynylations. Herein, we report that aryl-substituted EBX reagents can be directly activated by visible light irradiation. They act as both oxidants and radical traps, alle ...

The development of a sequential copper-catalyzed oxy-alkynylation/intramolecular [4+2] cycloaddition of allenes and arenes was investigated at first. This one-pot protocol allowed the construction of complex polycylic architectures with high efficiency fro ...

a-Amino ketones and 1,2-amino alcohols are important structural motifs in organic chemistry, that can be observed in natural products, pharmaceutically and bioactive compounds. For these reasons, they constitute privileged targets for the development of ne ...

We report an Umpolung strategy of enol ethers to generate oxy-allyl cation equivalents based on the use of hypervalent iodine reagents. Under mild basic conditions, the addition of nucleophiles to aryloxy-substituted vinylbenziodoxolone (VBX) reagents, eas ...

Photoredox catalysis has become a powerful tool for chemists. However, the reliance on expensive Ir and Ru based photoredox catalysts (PC) motivates research for more sustainable options. Copper complexes based on favorable photophysical properties, high a ...

Hydrosilylation is an important chemical process for the synthesis of organosilanes and for the production of silicone polymers. The wide variety of catalysts developed for this reaction generally follow a Chalk-Harrod, or a sigma-bond metathesis mechanism ...

The complexes Pd-II(qcq)(OAc) and Pt-II(qcq)Cl have been synthesized using environmentally benign synthesized ligands and characterized by elemental analyses: Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, H-1 NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray ...

Carbosilylation of alkenes can be an efficient approach to the synthesis of organosilicon compounds. However, few general methods of carbosilylation are known. Here, we introduce a strategy for arylsilylation of electron deficient terminal alkenes by combi ...

This review presents an account of the palladium-catalyzed functionalizations of alkenes and alkynes developed at the Laboratory of Catalysis and Organic Synthesis (LCSO). Starting from the intramolecular oxy- and aminoalkynylation of alkenes, tethered met ...

C-C and C-N bonds are some of the most common structures in molecules ranging from drugs to catalysts and to food additives. Many coupling reactions were developed to form these types of bonds with excellent selectivity and good performance. Still, the syn ...

Cross-coupling of two alkyl fragments is an efficient method to produce organic molecules rich in sp(3)-hybridized carbon centres, which are attractive candidate compounds in drug discovery. Enantioselective C(sp(3))-C(sp(3)) coupling is challenging, espec ...
