The inclusive WZ production cross section is measured in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13.6 TeV, using data collected during 2022 with the CMS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 34.7 fb−1. The measurement uses m ...

A search for W' bosons decaying to a top and a bottom quark in final states including an electron or a muon is performed with the CMS detector at the LHC. The analyzed data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions at ...

Context. The Euclid space satellite mission will measure the large-scale clustering of galaxies at an unprecedented precision, providing a unique probe of modifications to the ?CDM model. Aims. We investigated the approximations needed to efficiently predi ...

The production of prompt D+ and D-s(+) mesons is studied in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of root s(NN) = 5.02TeV. The data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of (1.58 +/- 0.02)nb(-1) is collected by the LHCb experiment at ...

Many approximate solutions of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation can be formulated as exact solutions of a nonlinear Schrodinger equation with an effective Hamiltonian operator depending on the state of the system. We show that Heller's thawed Gaussia ...

A study of the B+→K0SK+K−π+ and B+→K0SK+K+π− decays is performed using proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV at the LHCb experiment. The K0SKπ invariant mass spectra from both decay modes reveal a rich content of charmonium ...

This paper reports the observation of the decays B(s)(0) → D(s1)(2536)∓K± using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). The branching fractions of these decays are measured relat ...

Filamentary structures, also known as blobs, are a prominent feature of turbulence and transport at the edge of magnetically confined plasmas. They cause cross-field particle and energy transport and are, therefore, of interest in tokamak physics and, more ...

The present work investigates the three-dimensional flow of a thin liquid film distributed on the outer surface of an ellipsoid, rotating around the vertical axis at constant angular velocity. The lubrication approximation expressing the evolution of the f ...

Solid mixtures of ammonia and water, the so-called ammonia hydrates, are thought to be major components of solar and extra-solar icy planets. We present here a thorough characterization of the recently reported high pressure (P)-temperature (T) phase VII o ...

Container motion along a planar circular trajectory at a constant angular velocity, i.e. orbital shaking, is of interest in several industrial applications, e.g. for fermentation processes or in cultivation of stem cells, where good mixing and efficient ga ...

The Search for Hidden Particles (SHiP) Collaboration has proposed a general-purpose experimental facility operating in beam-dump mode at the CERN SPS accelerator to search for light, feebly interacting particles. In the baseline configuration, the SHiP exp ...

The first full angular analysis and an updated measurement of the decay-rate CP asymmetry of the D0 ??? x-+x-?????+????? and D0 ??? K+K?????+????? decays are reported. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at cente ...

We describe a method to measure the relaxation rates in Rubidium (Rb) Pulsed Optically Pumped (POP) vapor cell frequency standards. By means of repeated spectroscopy measurements with varying Ramsey time, we show how to extract multiple estimations of the ...

Humidity is one of the most relevant physical parameters to sense and control for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. Consequently, there is continuing demand for the development of innovative and sustainable humidity sensor solutions. ...

SPIDER is the full scale prototype for the ITER Heating Neutral Beam (HNB) source. The production of negative ions in the source mostly relies on the conversion of H/D atoms and positive ions on a 1.6 m x 0.8 m converter surface, which is covered with cesi ...

Ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) represent one of the main technologies for developing sensors to measure ions concentration in human tissues. All-solid-state ISEs are of key importance for sensor miniaturization, especially toward point-of-care application ...

This paper presents a systematic approach to transduction optimization of resonant piezo-based MEMS devices. The method is based on inverse design approach using direct piezoelectric effect and exploits mechanical action of desired mode to calculate the po ...

The accessibility of solitons in driven-dissipative photonic dimers drastically varies for different supermode families. We explain the origin of this phenomenon and show its crucial influence on any soliton lattice configuration including topological arra ...
