Abstract

A capacitance evaluation method based on the extraction of physical parameters from finite element (FE) analysis is presented. Mechanical simulations and this capacitance evaluation method were applied to a new, highly symmetrical, silicon accelerometer in view of globaly modeling the sensor system. The commercial hardware description language HDL-A(TM) is used to develop a compact behavioral macromodels for SPICE simulators.

Hardware description language

In computer engineering, a hardware description language (HDL) is a specialized computer language used to describe the structure and behavior of electronic circuits, and most commonly, digital logic circuits. A hardware description language enables a precise, formal description of an electronic circuit that allows for the automated analysis and simulation of an electronic circuit.

Computer simulation

Computer simulation is the process of mathematical modelling, performed on a computer, which is designed to predict the behaviour of, or the outcome of, a real-world or physical system.
