Abstract

La meta de éste trabajo es obtener magneto-elastómeros compuestos por dispersión de nanopartículas magnéticas en polidimetilsiloxano (PDMS), curando el polímero en presencia de un campo magnético uniforme. [Le but de ce travail est d’obtenir des composites magnéto-élastomériques par dispersion de nanoparticules magnétiques dans du polydiméthylsiloxane (PDMS), en réticulant le polymère en présence d’un champ magnétique uniforme.] [The goal of this work is to obtain magneto-elastomeric composites through dispersion of magnetic nanoparticles in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), by curing the polymer in presence of a uniform magnetic field.]

Iron oxide nanoparticle

Iron oxide nanoparticles are iron oxide particles with diameters between about 1 and 100 nanometers. The two main forms are composed of magnetite () and its oxidized form maghemite (γ-). They have attracted extensive interest due to their superparamagnetic properties and their potential applications in many fields (although cobalt and nickel are also highly magnetic materials, they are toxic and easily oxidized) including molecular imaging.

Elasticity (physics)

In physics and materials science, elasticity is the ability of a body to resist a distorting influence and to return to its original size and shape when that influence or force is removed. Solid objects will deform when adequate loads are applied to them; if the material is elastic, the object will return to its initial shape and size after removal. This is in contrast to plasticity, in which the object fails to do so and instead remains in its deformed state. Linear elasticity

Linear elasticity is a mathematical model of how solid objects deform and become internally stressed due to prescribed loading conditions. It is a simplification of the more general nonlinear theory of elasticity and a branch of continuum mechanics. The fundamental "linearizing" assumptions of linear elasticity are: infinitesimal strains or "small" deformations (or strains) and linear relationships between the components of stress and strain. In addition linear elasticity is valid only for stress states that do not produce yielding.
